Complete 50km of additional frontage roads on 3 expressways in 2025

It is expected that about 50km of additional service roads belonging to three expressway projects: Nha Trang - Cam Lam, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, My Thuan - Can Tho will be completed in 2025.

Reporting to the National Assembly on the progress of completing the system of service roads and residential roads on expressways that have been put into operation, the Ministry of Transport said that recently, the Ministry has urged investors and contractors to construct the entire system of service roads and level crossings for 11 component projects of the North-South expressway in the East in the 2017-2020 period and the My Thuan-Can Tho expressway.

Currently, the projects have been basically completed, putting into operation the entire system of service roads and cross-roads according to the initial agreement with the locality, best serving the travel needs of the people.

According to the Ministry of Transport, to facilitate people's travel, localities have proposed adding investment scope for residential roads with a total length of more than 73km.

Of which, the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway project adds about 14.5km; the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway adds more than 12km; the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway adds about more than 27km; the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway adds more than 2km; the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway adds about 6.8km; and the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway adds nearly 10km.

For the additional service road area, the Ministry of Transport has requested investors to coordinate with localities to carry out site clearance compensation and procedures according to regulations, and organize the selection of contractors for construction.

"According to the plan, in 2024, more than 23km of additional service roads will be completed in the projects: Dien Chau - Bai Vot; Cam Lam - Vinh Hao and Nha Trang - Cam Lam.

The remaining area of ​​about 50km belonging to the projects: Nha Trang - Cam Lam (13km); Phan Thiet - Dau Giay (more than 27km) and My Thuan - Can Tho expressway (9.7km) will be implemented immediately after arranging funding for implementation, expected to be completed in 2025," the Ministry of Transport informed.
