Hoang Thuy Linh hugs Den Vau, responds to being compared with My Tam

(Dan Tri) - The launch event of the music documentary "We are Vietnamese" by Hoang Thuy Linh received attention from the audience.

On the afternoon of March 8, singer Hoang Thuy Linh held a premiere of the documentary We Are Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the attention of fans and the media.

Hoang Thuy Linh's movie premiere had 800 guests. At the end of the red carpet photo session, rapper Den Vau suddenly appeared. He wore a hat, sunglasses, and dressed casually to congratulate Hoang Thuy Linh. The two singers hugged each other and interacted comfortably in front of the media cameras.

This is one of the rare times Hoang Thuy Linh and Den Vau appeared together in public. Before that, the two were rumored to be "dating and getting engaged" but never denied or confirmed it.

The documentary We Are Vietnamese chronicles the making of Hoang Thuy Linh's Vietnamese concert in September 2023. The work was co-directed by her and Kawaii Tuan Anh.

Sharing with the media after the screening, Hoang Thuy Linh said that in her career, the Vietnamese concert is an important milestone, her first solo concert. Therefore, the female singer wants to record special moments, preserve her youth, backstage images, joys and sorrows behind the stage.

In the documentary, Hoang Thuy Linh also recalled the noisy statement in 2023. She was saddened by the public's reaction and affirmed that this was not what she wanted. The 8X singer's crew said that during this time, Hoang Thuy Linh was extremely tired. She was practicing for the concert and preparing for post-production but "didn't complain a word".

In response to the media's question about Hoang Thuy Linh not clearly describing how she overcame the above pressure period, the singer replied: "Actually, when I cried and was saddest, there was no camera around. I went through a time when I crushed my own sadness. I don't want to portray too many sad, negative things, so I only share positive, energetic things with the audience.

I am not perfect, I have many shortcomings. When I look back at myself, I examine myself and also know that I have great love from everyone. The support of friends, audiences, and family is the strength that helps me grow and overcome difficulties in life."

There are some opinions mentioning the similarity between We Are Vietnamese and My Tam's documentary Timekeeper .

Regarding this, the singer of Duyen Am replied: "Before this premiere, I texted My Tam to invite her to come and she said she would support me from afar. I absolutely do not dare to compare myself with my seniors. Without my seniors, there would be no us now.

In this film, I not only learn from My Tam but also from M-TP company, learn from colleagues who are trying to contribute and stay in the Vietnamese music industry."

The documentary We Are Vietnamese has limited screenings after 6 p.m. on March 14 in 5 cities: Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Can Tho.

Hoang Thuy Linh was born in 1988 in Hanoi, starting her artistic career as an actress. Later, she achieved much success when she switched to singing.
