In Vietnam, the Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE scholarship is for students in the field of Science (including Biology, Food, Agriculture , Nutrition) of 14 universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Hanoi Medical University; Can Tho University; University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City; University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University...

Since its inception in 2009, 15 Vietnamese students have received the Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE Scholarship. Among them are students who are taking a master's degree course in Japan, some have graduated and returned to Vietnam to work and teach, contributing their knowledge to the overall development of the country, and some are continuing their doctoral studies abroad.

Through the Scholarship program, Ajinomoto Vietnam wishes to develop high-quality human resources in the field of food, nutrition and health so that they can join hands with the Company to contribute to the development of Vietnam, thereby contributing to realizing the Company's purpose of existence: "Contributing to bringing health and happiness to the people and society of Vietnam through providing quality products and valuable initiatives".

Connecting students to receive Ajinomoto ASEAN+ONE Scholarship

On October 30, 2023, Ajinomoto Vietnam Company organized an online networking session for Vietnamese students who received the Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE Scholarship, to share experiences, information and knowledge, thereby jointly creating more values ​​for society. The meeting was attended by General Director of Ajinomoto Vietnam Company - Mr. Tsutomu Nara and members of the Board of Directors, along with 12 out of 15 students who have received the Scholarship from 2009 to present.

Ajinomoto ASEAN+ONE scholarship recipients over the years shared their experiences, information and knowledge at the networking session.

At the meeting, Mr. Tsutomu Nara congratulated Vietnamese students who completed their master's courses in Japan this year, and expressed Ajinomoto Vietnam's pride in 15 years of accompanying the Scholarship and hoped that more and more students would receive the Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE Scholarship in their journey to conquer knowledge, thereby joining hands with Ajinomoto Vietnam to contribute to the development of Vietnam in the future.

Also at the exchange session, Ms. Le Vu Lan Phuong - currently Head of the Department of Biochemistry - Can Tho University of Technology, who was honored to receive the first Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE Scholarship in Vietnam in 2009, shared about the opportunities and experiences when receiving this scholarship. For her, the financial and spiritual support from the Scholarship has given her the opportunity to conduct extensive research in the field of Biochemistry and receive a master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Tokyo. After graduating, Ms. Lan Phuong chose to return to Can Tho and work at Can Tho University of Technology with two main teaching majors: biotechnology and food technology. Not only imparting the knowledge she acquired in Japan, she also shared her valuable experiences during her time studying abroad with generations of Vietnamese students with the hope of inspiring students on their path to conquering knowledge.

Currently, the Ajinomoto ASEAN + ONE scholarship is still being implemented annually by Ajinomot Vietnam, providing opportunities to improve professional knowledge in the land of the rising sun for Vietnamese science students, thereby nurturing a source of scientific talent to join the Company in contributing to the health and happiness of Vietnamese people.
