At the workshop, delegates discussed many topics on: Urgent issues in biodiversity conservation in the Northern mountainous region; nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration; integrating the National Biodiversity Strategy and the Global Biodiversity Framework into local development programs and policies; regional linkages and multi-stakeholder cooperation. Many opinions affirmed that the Northern mountainous provinces such as Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang , Lao Cai, Lang Son, Quang Ninh... are not only rich in potential natural forests and endemic forest ecosystems, but also preserve valuable indigenous knowledge of ethnic minorities in managing and using natural resources.

Delegates also frankly acknowledged the remaining challenges: Resources for conservation are limited, many development plans are not linked to biological conservation, the conversion of forest land and unsustainable resource exploitation still occur. Therefore, it is necessary to improve institutions and policies to encourage localities and businesses to invest in conservation, especially green financial mechanisms, payment for forest environmental services and development of products bearing the natural imprint of the Northern mountainous region.

Delegates shared the situation of biodiversity conservation in the locality.
