National workshop to discuss solutions to implement the Primary Education Program

The National Scientific Conference "Current situation and solutions to implement the Primary Education Program" was jointly organized by the Department of General Education, Ministry of Education and Training , Hue University of Education, Hue University and Hue City Department of Education and Training.

Overview of the National Scientific Conference.

General Education Program (GP) - The overall program and the GPT Program of subjects/educational activities issued with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDDT dated December 26, 2018 of the Minister of Education and Training have created positive changes in general schools, increasing learning opportunities, connecting, developing learners' capacity and qualities, fostering and improving professional qualifications and pedagogical skills for teachers.

Many important issues on solutions to implement the Primary Education Program were discussed at the Workshop.

After 7 years of issuing the Program, 5 years of implementing teaching and organizing educational activities according to the new textbooks, scientists, managers, and dedicated teachers have come together to exchange and share test results, analyze the current situation, and discuss solutions to effectively implement the General Education Program in the next phase.

The workshop held a plenary session and 3 internal sessions (including: Subcommittee 1: Primary education program and policy; Subcommittee 2: Innovation in teaching methods and assessment in primary school; Subcommittee 3: Digital transformation in primary education).

Dr. Le Ho Son, Principal of Hue University of Education, delivered a congratulatory speech.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung - Vice Principal of the School reported the introduction to the Workshop.

There were 3 scientific reports at the plenary session and 12 reports at internal sessions out of a total of 88 scientific reports presented in the carefully edited Proceedings (with a capacity of more than 900 pages).

In addition to the professional issues on the current situation and solutions for implementing the General Education Program highlighted in the reports, the Workshop also received more than 100 responses and shares from education experts, school administrators, especially from teachers directly teaching in the classroom.

The workshop aimed at the following basic objectives: Assessing the current status of implementing the Primary Education Program; Sharing models, methods and practical experiences in teaching and managing education according to the Primary Education Program; Proposing specific solutions and strategies to improve the quality of implementing the Primary Education Program, focusing on supporting the improvement of teachers' professional capacity, fostering students' qualities and abilities, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of general education in Vietnam; Creating a forum for exchange and connection between researchers, educational managers, teacher training institutions and primary schools and relevant parties to promote cooperation, information sharing and developing a support network for implementing the Primary Education Program.

According to many scientists, the Conference has increased opportunities for participants to connect and share in-depth professional content; created a quality academic forum; initially discussed and resolved a number of key issues on implementing the Program and textbooks, contributing to promoting the development of primary education.
