According to Ms. Tran Thi My Phuong - Vice President of the Women's Union of Quang Nam province, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the implementation of the project "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children" (Project 8) in mountainous districts has achieved many important results. The total resources mobilized and allocated to implement the project over 4 years is more than 26.3 billion VND, the disbursement rate is 80.5%.
The Provincial Women's Union has organized 45 community communication sessions on gender equality in 6 mountainous districts, attracting thousands of members and women to participate. The unions at all levels also organized competitions on gender equality, widely propagating gender equality and related issues on mass media.
The Provincial Women's Union established points and organized communication for 2 models of "Community Communication Teams", 2 "Leaders of Change" clubs in 2 communes of Tay Giang and Nam Giang districts with 400 people and students participating. Organized 2 models of "Trusted Addresses" in 2 communes of Nam Tra My and Bac Tra My districts. Built 200 community communication teams operating in 200 villages and hamlets with 1,614 participants.
Over the past 4 years, mountainous districts in Project 8 have newly established or upgraded 50 “Trusted Addresses” to support and protect women who are victims of domestic violence; established 58 “Leaders of Change” clubs in schools and communities with 1,204 ethnic minority girls directly participating in the operation.
