The localities heavily affected include Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh , Lang Son and Cao Bang; in which, in Thai Nguyen, due to heavy rain causing deep flooding, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has proactively directed to temporarily stop power supply at two 110kV transformer stations Thinh Dan and Xi Cement Quang Son and some low-lying areas to ensure safety for people and electrical equipment.

According to statistics, the storm circulation has affected more than 262,000 customers in many northern provinces. By 1 p.m. the same day, EVNNPC units had restored power supply to more than 19,000 customers, reaching about 7.3% of the total number of affected customers. Currently, nearly 250,000 remaining customers are mainly concentrated in Thai Nguyen (about 197,000 customers), Lang Son (25,000 customers), Cao Bang (nearly 7,000 customers) and Bac Ninh (15,000 customers). The power force is gradually approaching deeply flooded areas to soon restore full power when weather conditions permit.

As soon as the weather became complicated, EVNNPC activated a high-level disaster response plan, mobilizing staff, workers, vehicles and equipment at units in the affected areas, ready to respond and fix the problem. Local power units proactively suspended power supply in locations at risk of insecurity, and closely coordinated with the authorities and disaster prevention forces to ensure absolute safety for the people.

Along with troubleshooting, EVNNPC also strengthens propaganda on safe electricity use during the rainy and stormy season, helping people to be more vigilant and proactive in preventing risks in flooded areas.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, the power industry workers are still closely following the scene day and night, making efforts to restore the power grid in parts, prioritizing power supply to drainage pumping stations, medical facilities, residential areas and key points. EVNNPC continues to closely monitor the development of floods, directs units to concentrate human resources, materials, vehicles and coordinate with functional agencies to ensure safety and speed up the restoration of the power system.

The Corporation affirmed that it will mobilize all resources to the maximum, determined to soon complete the work of restoring power supply, serving people's lives and production and business activities after the flood.
