Signing of MOU cooperation between Netzero company and Hue City Institute for Development Studies |
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh said that in recent times, Hue City has implemented many important programs, issued a Circular Economy Action Plan until 2035, piloted electric garbage trucks and a preferential loan program for people to buy electric motorbikes. The city has also oriented to develop renewable energy, including solar power, wind power, waste-to-energy and biomass. In particular, the city is studying the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) model for the core heritage area, to control traffic emissions and protect air quality.
The workshop is an opportunity for relevant units to exchange, share experiences and propose feasible solutions, aiming to turn Hue into a green - smart - heritage city, a pioneer in implementing the Net Zero 2050 target. "I hope that the comments at the workshop will help the City complete its strategy and action roadmap in the coming time," said Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh.
The workshop focused on presenting and discussing a number of contents on Managing green, smart and sustainable urban development in the context of transforming two-level urban government; Current status of green growth urban development in Hue City; Policy on building Low Emission Zones (LEZ) for Hue City; Introduction to the Framework for guiding the development of green, low-emission urban areas for Vietnamese cities; Framework for guiding the development of green, low-emission urban areas for Vietnamese cities; Vietnam's commitments at COP26 and efforts from COP26 to COP29; International experience: From waste challenges to climate action: Infrastructure and financial solutions for Vietnam's urban transformation.
Also at the workshop, a MOU cooperation agreement was signed between Netzero company and Hue City Development Research Institute to create a basis for implementing upcoming action programs, accompanying the city in building Hue into a green and sustainable city.
