In recent years, Ba Che district has attached great importance to promoting the role of the village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people among ethnic minorities. Bright example of the village

Currently, in Ba Che district, there are 65 prestigious people, including 6 women (aged 56-72) and 59 men (aged 47-83). Prestigious people in villages and neighborhoods are mainly Dao, Tay, San Chay ethnic groups... Of which, 45 prestigious people are party members, 9 are Party cell secretaries and village chiefs, 19 are retired, 17 are shamans and sorcerers, and 20 prestigious people are from other groups.

Among the 65 prestigious ethnic minority people in Ba Che district, most of them are village elders, medical practitioners, people with good economic conditions, enthusiastic in helping and trusted by the people. In particular, there are also some people who were former officials holding positions in the Party Committee, government, heads of departments and branches from the commune level and above, trusted by the people.

With prestige, experience and a firm grasp of local realities, on the basis of the same language and customs as ethnic minorities, the team of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people have proactively propagated and educated from their children and grandchildren in the family, clan to the people in the village, hamlet, and neighborhood. Promoting the pioneering and exemplary role, implementing and mobilizing people of all ethnic groups to effectively carry out patriotic emulation movements launched by the Party, government, Fatherland Front, departments, branches, and organizations. Prestigious people have actively participated in propaganda and mobilization, achieving high efficiency in ensuring security and order; building new rural areas; sustainable poverty reduction, grassroots reconciliation, and land clearance for socio-economic development projects of the province and locality.

Responding to the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life”, in recent years, prestigious people have mobilized people of all ethnic groups to preserve and promote good customs and practices; eliminate bad customs, eliminate superstitions; practice civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals and festivals. Not only that, prestigious people also mobilize descendants of clans, clans, and relatives not to get involved in social evils, and do a good job of reconciliation at the grassroots level. At the same time, they actively mobilize people to prevent, detect, and fight against illegal religious propaganda activities, maintaining political security and social order.

Prestigious people also actively propagate people not to migrate freely, not to dispute land, not to listen to the propaganda of bad guys. Along with that, coordinate with local authorities to participate in mobilizing to stabilize the situation of many arising cases within the country, land disputes, forest land encroachment... From the reality at the grassroots level, ethnic minorities in Ba Che district have provided the police force with many valuable sources of information to help detect and handle criminal cases and cases of trafficking of women and children.

Competition in production labor

In socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, prestigious people continue to maintain their leading role, exemplary in implementing the emulation movement of labor production, improving the material and spiritual life of the community. In addition to improving mixed gardens, vacant land, and bare hills to increase crop area and income, prestigious people also focus on mobilizing people to actively increase labor production, apply scientific and technical advances in livestock and poultry farming and apply new varieties in high-yield cultivation.

Many prestigious people among ethnic minorities have successfully applied farm economic models. The economic development models of prestigious people not only enrich their families, but also help many poor households in the locality to escape poverty and become rich legitimately by supporting seeds, techniques, etc.

In recent years, prestigious people in Ba Che have also actively participated in propaganda and mobilization work to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the implementation of ethnic policies in the locality, taking the initiative in propaganda and education of children in the family, clan, and village; promoting the pioneering and exemplary role, implementing and mobilizing people to build new rural areas. Among them, prominent prestigious people have emerged such as: Mr. Chiu Soi Thoong in Tau Tien village, Mrs. Chiu Thi Hai in Na Lang village (Don Dac commune); Mr. Trieu Thanh Xuan in Nam Ha Trong village (Nam Son commune) has taken the lead in building a model of growing red-fleshed dragon fruit, purple ba kich, bamboo mai... bringing high economic efficiency.

The active activities of prestigious people in Ba Che district have been making important contributions to the cause of national unity, promoting the spirit of mastery of the people, contributing to exploiting all potentials and strengths of the locality and the unique cultural beauty of ethnic minorities to continuously boost production, develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, gradually improve and enhance the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in the area.

There are currently 7 prestigious people in Thanh Son commune. Each individual has a different level of contribution and influence in the community, but they all have in common that they are exemplary, enthusiastic, have persuasive words, and practice what they preach, thus building trust with the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, organizations, unions and people in the area.

In addition to propaganda activities, mobilizing people to change their lifestyle, prestigious people in Thanh Son commune are always at the forefront of economic development; developing models of planting large timber trees and medicinal plants under the forest canopy; not only enriching their families, they also support and help many households escape poverty through support of seeds, capital and techniques.

If you want people to believe, you must first set an example. For many years, I have always tried to work hard and produce, and set an example in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

Currently, I am working with the commune government to mobilize households to donate land to build the Bac Xa inter-village road. There are still 2 households that have not agreed, but we have a convincing plan to ensure a clean land, and to soon construct the road to help people travel and trade conveniently, and vehicles carrying acacia wood can reach the households.
