A quick survey shows that at most major dealers, the iPhone 17 Pro Max in silver and orange are "sold out". Some have blue options available, but mainly the high-capacity 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB versions.

At retail stores, the silver 17 Pro Max 256 GB ranges from 45-46 million, the orange 42-43 million, and the blue 40-41 million. The silver 17 Pro model is rare with a price difference of 1-3 million VND less than the Pro Max line.

Le Hieu, owner of an Apple device store on Huynh Thuc Khang Street ( Hanoi ), said that genuine iPhones in Vietnam are being sold at record prices compared to previous years. In the first week after going on sale on September 19, the silver iPhone 17 Pro Max was priced 12-15 million VND, double the usual price, and has only cooled down a bit thanks to hand-carried devices from markets like the US and Singapore being imported to Vietnam in large numbers.

According to representatives of some systems, Vietnam was opened for sale early for the first time, so demand was higher than every year. In addition, the iPhone 17 series has many changes in appearance, so many people want to upgrade from the old generation.

A representative of a large retail system revealed that in the first batch last year, Vietnam was allocated about 120,000 iPhone 16 series, but this year only 40,000 units due to early sales along with major markets around the world . Meanwhile, the number of orders at the systems is up to nearly 200,000 units, so it is expected that these orders will be delivered by the end of October.

Hoang Tuan, owner of an iPhone store on Hue Street (Hanoi), predicts that the price of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will return to the listed price in late October and early November. Some less popular models such as the blue color may even be sold below the listed price in about a month.

"After the first period of shortage, Apple will implement price adjustments to boost sales," said a representative of a large retail system.

The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max duo have a drastic change in appearance with a large camera cluster, using an aluminum shell instead of titanium. The device was opened for pre-order in Vietnam from September 12 and was delivered to users a week later. Right from the opening of sale, the 256 GB orange version "sold out" in a few minutes, then the silver version fell into a similar situation, while the blue color received little attention.
