What did Jude Bellingham say when he helped England win their opening match at EURO 2024?

After a successful season with Real Madrid, with a double of La Liga and Champions League titles, Jude Bellingham continues to play a leading role in the opening match of EURO 2024, England vs Serbia.

The 20-year-old midfielder's goal in the 13th minute ensured Gareth Southgate's team got off to a good start in Germany.

Jude Bellingham was voted Man of the Match , as it was inevitable. “ I’m ready to do whatever it takes, do everything to help England win EURO 2024 ,” Jude Bellingham told BBC Sport.

The midfielder shared after the match that made fans love him even more, the man who just set a record to become the youngest European player to participate in 3 major tournaments - EURO 2020, World Cup 2022 and now EURO 2024:

“ I’m used to getting into the box, moving wide. I had that habit at Real Madrid and I want to show my form at EURO 2024. It’s a great start for me personally to regain my confidence. Helping England win is the most important thing.”

Watching Bellingham play, former England international Micah Richards commented on BBC Sport: “ He has got the game under his belt and that's what you need.

Jude Bellingham has a remarkable composure. He was a leader of this team at a young age and he knows it. Bellingham has everything! ”

Former MU midfielder Rio Ferdinand said: "Today, Bellingham entered the field knowing this was his match."

England's next match in Group C EURO 2024 will be against Denmark, who shared points with Slovenia (1-1), at 2am on June 20.
