The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Court of Appeal ruled that Juventus had fraudulently increased its investment capital and the Turin club was once again deducted 10 points in Serie A.

Juventus FC was found guilty of inflating transfer fees to increase fake investment capital to make the team's assets much larger than their real value and FIGC decided to deduct Juventus 10 points.

Before the points deduction, Juventus were second in Serie A with 69 points. After receiving the penalty, Max Allegri's army fell to 7th, a position that does not qualify for the Champions League.

Recently, 42 Juventus player transfers, most notably the exchange of Miralem Pjanic for Arthur Melo with Barcelona, have been accused of financial fraud.

During a three-hour hearing on May 22, FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chine asked for Juventus to be deducted 11 points, two more than he had requested in January 2023. The prosecutor also asked for eight-month football bans for seven former Juventus directors, Pavel Nedved, Paolo Garimberti, Assia Grazioli Venier, Caitlin Mary Hughes, Daniela Marilungo, Francesco Roncaglio and Enrico Vellano (who resigned en masse in November 2022 amid allegations of financial fraud).

However, the FIGC Court of Appeal acquitted the seven individuals, but also deducted Juventus 10 points in Serie A, with the penalty taking effect immediately from May 22. Following the verdict, Juventus announced that it would be open to appeal to the Board of Guarantees at the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI).

In January 2023, the FIGC decided to deduct 15 points from Juventus for accounting, financial reporting and market manipulation violations. After a successful appeal, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) asked the Serie A Organizing Committee to return the 15 points to Juventus on April 20.

Immediately after receiving the penalty of being deducted 10 points, Juventus played against Empoli in round 36 of Serie A and suffered a 1-4 defeat. They dropped to 7th place in Serie A with 59 points, 5 points behind 4th place Inter Milan.

Coach Max Allegri is angry that Juventus's constant changes in fortunes are disrespectful to the club. The Italian coach stressed that he is committed to the future of the "Old Lady" and Juventus still have a chance to break into the top 4 if they beat AC Milan this weekend.
