Connecting the "golden triangle" to develop tourism and services

In the period when Vietnam's tourism industry is growing strongly, the need to restructure products and orient development strategies becomes urgent. One of the sustainable directions is to strengthen regional and local linkages, especially in areas with similarities in culture, geography and natural resources. The three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh (old) - now the new Phu Tho province located in the Northern midland and mountainous region, converge all the elements to become a "golden triangle" for tourism and service development associated with long-standing cultural values.

Known as "Da Lat of the North", Tam Dao tourist area has a stunning beauty with wild and majestic nature.

Connecting the

The merger of the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh to form the new Phu Tho province is a strategic move, promoting socio-economic links and tourism and services, promoting the advantages of geographical location, natural resources, and identity of each land based on cultural potential, natural conditions and infrastructure connections. With a well-planned vision, attracting many investment resources and strong inter-regional cooperation, Phu Tho can completely form a "golden triangle of tourism" with diverse products, suitable for the needs of both domestic and international visitors, opening a new development period for the Northwest region.

Mutual support of tourism products

After the merger, Phu Tho stands out in spiritual - origin tourism, resort - ecology and community culture, creating complementary products, diversifying the experiences of tourists. Currently, tourists tend to "multiple destinations in one journey" with the type of tourism exploring indigenous culture, resort and cuisine . Phu Tho completely meets this need, especially suitable for tourists from Hanoi, the provinces of the Red River Delta and international visitors.

The land of Hung Kings is the birthplace of the Van Lang state - the first state in the history of the Vietnamese nation. The intangible cultural heritage of Hung King worship and Xoan singing in Phu Tho was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. In addition, the province also possesses a diverse ecosystem with famous landscapes such as Xuan Son National Park, Ly Lake, Thanh Thuy hot spring... Besides, Tay Thien scenic area is one of the largest Buddhist centers in the country, along with craft villages, rural markets, rich Muong, Dao, San Diu folk cultural spaces..., outstanding with national identity and mountain and forest landscapes.

Festivals such as Xen Ban, Cau Mua, Com Moi, Xoan singing, Gheo singing, Then singing, Trong Quan singing, Xoe dancing... are a vivid and valuable cultural resource for developing community and experiential tourism. Lac Village, Kim Boi hot spring, Thung Nai, Hoa Binh lake... create unique highlights. The majestic cave system, mountain and forest ecosystem, large hydroelectric lake, combined with ethnic cuisine are developing strongly. High-end resorts such as Flamingo Dai Lai, Belvedere Resort, Serena Resort Kim Boi, Victoria Hoa Binh... have raised the quality of service in the area. Many restaurants, hotels, and homestays have significantly improved the quality of service.

After the merger, Phu Tho has many advantages in terms of geographical location when it is located close to Hanoi, easily connected via roads and highways. The transportation system has been upgraded such as Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, National Highway 32, National Highway 6, Ho Chi Minh road, Hanoi - Lao Cai railway... very convenient for forming continuous tours during the day or on weekends.

The province's tourism industry continues to be promoted through unique programs and products, attracting domestic and international tourists.

Building regional linkage strategy

Despite its great potential, the process of linking to develop tourism and services in Phu Tho still faces barriers such as the lack of a regional master plan, lack of infrastructure connection; the promotion and sharing of tour data between tourist areas and destinations is still fragmented and unsynchronized. Moreover, the local characteristics have not been fully exploited, many cultural values are still only contained in local festivals and have not been transformed into specific products to attract tourists...

When the province first comes into operation, authorities at all levels and functional sectors need to coordinate to build a tourism development strategy commensurate with its potential, clearly identify each strength in the value chain, and build a regional brand. In addition, focus on expanding integrated tourism products, forming inter-provincial tours such as: Journey to the origin of Hung Temple - Tay Thien - Thac Bo Temple; Dai Lai - Tam Dao - Hoa Binh Lake - Thanh Thuy mineral spring, Kim Boi eco-resort tourism; Dao village - Lac village, Pom Coong village - Mai Chau community tourism; Ly Nhan blacksmith village tourism, An Tuong carpentry, Thu Do, Huong Canh pottery, Vinh Son snake; explore ethnic culture, experience making banh chung, learn xoan singing, Thai xoe dance, brocade weaving, Dao herbal bath. Focus on supporting homestay models associated with indigenous culture, training people to do tourism, developing typical handicraft products as souvenirs...

Along with that, promote the application of digital technology to connect destinations, support tourists in booking tickets, looking up information, and making payments online; at the same time, promote the region's image on social networking platforms, tourism websites, and phone applications.

With the right strategy and the consensus of the Party committees, authorities, businesses and people, Phu Tho's "golden tourism triangle" can completely become a bright spot of Vietnam's tourism in the coming years. Regional linkage is not only an effective economic strategy, but also a way to preserve and spread national cultural values in a sustainable way.

Three lands, three identities, but now under one roof, on the same journey. When culture is in harmony with nature, tourism is not only an economic sector, but also becomes a bridge to spread values, promote sustainable development, and connect inter-regional communities in a space imbued with Vietnamese identity.
