Due to the impact of storm No. 10 and the post-storm circulation, from September 28 to October 1, in the communes along the Lo River such as Doan Hung, Chan Mong, Phu My... there was prolonged heavy rain, the water level of the Lo River rose to alert level 1. Following closely the developments of floods, at this time, the leaders of the communes actively inspected and directly directed the response to floods in flooded areas, areas at risk of flooding, landslides, weak dykes and culverts across the dykes in the area.

Leaders of Doan Hung commune inspected and directed the work of responding to floods and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10.

In Doan Hung commune, up to now, the commune has 9.52 hectares of crops, 600 peach trees flooded, 5 hectares of forestry trees broken and flooded; 11.26 hectares of fish ponds, one-crop fish farming fields flooded, overflowed; landslides of about 10m of road in zone 7, old Doan Hung town; landslides of 200m3 of earth and rock down to the alley road in zone 9, old Ngoc Quan commune; landslides of 30m of riverbank in Hung Tien area near Doan Hung bridge; landslides of nearly 50m close to the edge of the road on Thong Nhat dike section...; along with that, a number of factories and yards of enterprises in the area were also flooded. Through inspection, the commune leaders directed specialized departments and units to mobilize forces to support affected people to evacuate their assets from areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides; urgently reinforce and repair landslide sites, especially urgently repair the drainage culvert site across the dike in Phu Thinh area, Doan Hung commune to ensure the safety of the flow; at the same time, request departments and residential areas to review and grasp the situation, proactively plan to evacuate people in high-risk areas to safety; assign 24/7 standing forces at key points to promptly handle arising situations.

Chan Mong commune leaders inspected the weak dike, landslide locations and directed response to floods and storm No. 10.

Faced with the flood situation, the leaders of Chan Mong Commune People's Committee inspected the critical dike and monitored the river water level, directed departments and specialized agencies to urgently propagate, urge and guide households along the river to evacuate people and property to safe areas before the river water level rises. At the same time, direct, inspect, review and evacuate households in dangerous areas; mobilize the commune militia and E406 Brigade to help people in Tien Phong area and Vu Quang area 2 evacuate property; strengthen propaganda so that people can proactively prevent, not be negligent, ensure safety of life and property; at the same time, review key dike points to promptly respond to prevent water from overflowing the dike, affecting local rice and crops. Continue to assign forces on duty to monitor the situation in the areas, be ready to focus on implementing specific measures to respond to and overcome floods, limit damage and impact on people's lives and production.

Faced with complicated weather developments, rising floodwaters on the Lo River, which pose a risk of flooding and landslides affecting the local dyke system, on the morning of October 1, leaders of Phu My commune directly inspected the key dykes and riverside areas at risk of being affected by floods; at the same time, requested the Commune Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command to closely coordinate with the militia, police, and mass organizations to regularly monitor and inspect key points, and prepare forces, materials, and means to respond when an emergency occurs.

In particular, for households living along the Lo River, the commune directed to urgently review, make a list and evacuate people to safe places; absolutely not to let human losses occur, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property during the rainy and stormy season.

It is forecasted that the water level of Lo River will continue to rise, communes along Lo River need to prepare adequate means, human resources, and materials, ready to respond when situations arise; at the same time, strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness, absolutely not be subjective in flood and storm prevention, proactively harvest crops in low-lying areas according to the motto "green house is better than old field" to minimize damage.
