10th grade exam results in Ho Chi Minh City: 10 points for math and foreign language are lower than last year

According to many 10th grade exam graders in Ho Chi Minh City, this year's exam results have changed a lot compared to last year.

The most notable of these is the math exam results. "The entire city only had 36 candidates scoring 10 points in math, this number in 2024 was 49 students even though last year's exam was considered difficult" - a math teacher told Tuoi Tre Online .

However, the above teacher added that the number of candidates who scored 9.75, 9.25 and 9 points in math was much higher than last year. Most of the students did not achieve the maximum score because their presentation and argument in geometry were not solid, or there were small mistakes that led to losing points.

Another good news is that the average math test score this year is higher than in 2024: most candidates scored 6-7 points, while last year it was 4.25 - 5.25 points.

"In foreign languages, the number of candidates who scored 10 was only about 1/3 compared to last year. The reason is that this year the number of candidates taking the 10th grade exam was lower. But there is also another fundamental reason: students are not yet familiar with the type of questions that require applying knowledge to real life.

As a result, many students lost points. As far as I know, the number of candidates who scored 9.75 points in foreign languages ​​this year is also lower than last year" - an English teacher informed.

Not only that, many foreign language teachers also said that this year's foreign language score distribution will certainly be lower than in 2024. Candidates scoring 5.5 - 6.25 are the majority, while last year the majority of candidates scored 8.75 points.

Only in literature do teachers predict the score distribution will not change much.

"This year, there are 2 candidates who achieved 9.5 points, while last year there was only 1 candidate who achieved this score. I remember last year the average score for literature was 6.5 - 7 points, and this year it is about the same.

This proves that city students are familiar with innovative teaching methods and have the skills to take exams according to the 2018 general education program. We went to grade the exams and were very excited with this result" - a literature teacher excitedly announced.

It is known that this year is the first year that 9th grade students take the 10th grade entrance exam according to the 2018 general education program.
