Storm No. 3 (Yagi) is at super typhoon level and is forecast to have a strong impact on both sea and land weather. To proactively prevent storm No. 3, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Tri province has deployed measures, focusing on regularly monitoring and updating the natural disaster situation, inventorying and managing vessels and reviewing forces and vehicles, ready to deploy rescue when there is a situation.

As of this evening, September 5, the authorities have called on 2,331 domestic and foreign vessels to anchor at the ports, including 2,264 vessels in the province and 67 vessels from other provinces.

Specifically, 2,262 intra-provincial vessels anchored at ports in the province are present, 1 vessel/7 crew members are anchored in Quang Binh, 1 vessel/9 crew members are anchored in Phu Yen. There are still 16 vessels of the province with 131 crew members operating at sea but outside the storm's affected area. Of which, operating from the sea area of ​​Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa are 3 vessels/26 crew members, the sea area of ​​Quang Binh to Quang Nam is 10 vessels/91 crew members, the sea area of ​​Quang Tri is 2 vessels/10 crew members, the sea area of ​​Da Nang is 1 vessel/4 crew members.

Among the 67 out-of-province vessels anchored to avoid storm No. 3 at anchorages in the province, there are 50 fishing vessels with 394 crew members. Specifically, Quang Ngai has 9 vessels/82 crew members; Binh Dinh has 2 vessels/16 crew members; Nghe An has 9 vessels/81 crew members; Thua Thien Hue has 8 vessels/65 crew members; Quang Binh has 18 vessels/105 crew members; Thanh Hoa has 1 vessel/6 crew members; Ninh Thuan has 2 vessels/33 crew members; Nam Dinh has 1 vessel/6 crew members. In addition, there are 17 cargo vessels with 147 crew members.

As of September 5, reservoirs in the province are operating safely. Of which, the total capacity of irrigation reservoirs managed by Quang Tri Irrigation Works Management and Exploitation Company Limited is about 31.1% of the designed capacity, the capacity of small reservoirs managed by the locality is about 32% of the designed capacity; irrigation - hydroelectric reservoirs are about 30.5% of the designed capacity.

To ensure the safety of lakes, dams and dykes before the 2024 flood season, localities and units have inspected, reviewed and assessed the current status of the works to detect, fix, repair and repair damages in a timely manner. At the same time, they have developed, reviewed and updated disaster response plans and emergency situations for works and downstream areas for lakes and dams, and dyke protection plans in vulnerable areas for dykes and embankments to proactively respond when natural disasters occur.
