Opening of AI application course, GPT chat in journalism

Participating in the training course of the Vietnam Journalists Association was journalist Ngo Tran Thinh - Head of Digital News Content Department - Ho Chi Minh City Television. This course also attracted 50 students who are reporters and editors of press agencies in the South.

Attending and delivering the opening speech of the course, journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, emphasized the importance of AI technology and Chat GPT to the press. Therefore, the course will focus on the trend of applying these technologies and sharing experiences in applying AI and Chat GPT in working activities.

50 students from Southern press agencies attended the course.

The Vice President of the Journalists Association believes that the application of AI and Chat GPT is an inevitable trend that is taking place strongly in most economic and social fields today. This is also a field that responds sensitively to all fluctuations in economic and social life, and the press and media play an important role. In that context, the press must proactively innovate its delivery methods, bringing new experiences to readers through digital technology applications.

Faced with the explosion in speed, quantity and scale of information consumption today, press and media organizations are gradually overloaded if they still maintain the traditional way. To solve this problem, many press agencies have used artificial intelligence to change the way they produce, organize, classify, publish and distribute news content on different platforms, thereby gradually changing the user experience of content and form in a smarter way.

However, the application of artificial intelligence, especially ChatGPT, has been posing many opportunities and challenges, especially for journalists and managers. For that reason, through this course, students will be equipped with important knowledge, which will be effectively applied in practice in their units' work.

It is known that in this course, students will be introduced to the capabilities of AI and the application of AI in press products that have been broadcast. Students will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of AI, thereby creating efficiency in applying this technology to work. After grasping the content of AI application, students will directly participate in practice to apply this new technology to produce press products to draw experience from real practice.
