Opening of Quang Ninh Culinary Festival 2024

On the evening of December 26, at Sun Carnival Plaza Square (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City), the opening ceremony of the Quang Ninh Culinary Festival 2024 took place with the theme " Quang Ninh - Destination of culinary quintessence" .

Attending the Festival were Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and representatives of leaders of the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture - Sports ; Tourism Promotion Information Center; Associations, businesses, hotels, restaurants of Quang Ninh and a number of provinces and cities in the country.

The Quang Ninh Food Festival will take place over 3 days from December 26-29, 2024. Following the success of previous festivals, the 2024 Quang Ninh Food Festival will be the largest ever held; becoming a festival to honor the unique cultural and culinary values of Quang Ninh with friends and tourists from all over the world.

The 2024 Food Festival attracted 130 units from 32 provinces and cities representing the three regions of North - Central - South to register to participate with a total of 200 booths. Of which, Quang Ninh province has 65 units and businesses registering nearly 130 booths.

Ms. Nguyen Huyen Anh, Director of the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province, awarded the Gold Prize to chef Nguyen Quoc Tuan (right) with the dish "Rươi kho Tu Ky - Hai Duong" from the Red River Provinces Tourism Association and honored chef Tran Van Tuyet with the dish "Banh Pani Puri" from Saigon Ha Long Hotel.

Through activities such as beautiful booth decoration contest, presentation on cuisine, regional specialties, sale of famous OCOP products, the Food Festival has introduced to people and tourists the unique features of Quang Ninh tourism, the potential of culinary tourism and aims to upgrade and renew the province's culinary products. At the same time, it creates opportunities for localities and businesses to exchange and learn from each other's experiences in developing and exploiting the value of culinary culture associated with tourism, improving service quality and tourism business efficiency.

Within the framework of the Festival, there are also attractive art performances with performances imbued with traditional art colors of ethnic minorities, Xam singing; Cheo singing; love songs of fishermen in the coastal areas of Quang Ninh; folk games; cocktail mixing demonstrations, Ha Long squid sausage processing art performances...

The Food Festival is an attractive tourism product of Quang Ninh. The event aims to demonstrate the efforts and determination of the Quang Ninh tourism industry to overcome difficulties after the heavy damage caused by storm No. 3, continuing the growth and development momentum to make Quang Ninh a safe, friendly and attractive "Four-season tourist destination". Thereby, contributing to the effort to achieve the target of welcoming 20 million visitors by 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching 50,000 billion VND.
