Who among us has ever observed the night sky, dreamed of touching the stars or been curious about the mysteries of outer space? The Space Science and Technology Exhibition Area of the Space Discovery Center will decode those mysteries.
Vietnam Space Center created this space with the aim of raising awareness and inspiring passion for space science in the community, especially the young generation - those who will shape the future of the country.
This is not just a dry display of models or documents, but a vivid journey where you can approach space technology and astronomy in the most intimate and realistic way.
Through fun interactive activities, the exhibition not only provides knowledge but also conveys passion to students and science lovers.
The exhibition area is designed in a modern style, inspired by the vastness of the universe and the mysterious space journeys that we usually only see in science fiction movies.
This is not just a place to look around, but a real journey that takes us beyond the limits of the Earth.
The exhibition area uses exquisite lighting effects and advanced simulation techniques to create a vivid space that feels like being lost in the middle of galaxies.
The satellite, planet and rocket models are meticulously crafted, scientifically and realistically arranged, providing an experience that is both beautiful and impressive.
The spatial layout is arranged according to the flow of time - from the past formation of the universe to the present achievements and the brilliant future ahead.
Every corner of the display is carefully crafted, not only to see but also to feel the majesty of the vast universe.
Inside the Exhibition Area is uniquely designed, divided into two floors according to two main themes.
The first floor, with an area of nearly 1,000 square meters, acts as a door opening to a magical universe .
The exploration begins with a corridor introducing Vietnam's ancient constellations, combined with the 13.7 billion year history of the universe, from the Big Bang event to future perspectives.
The focal point of this floor is the enchantingly designed "Mysterious Universe" room. Using a system of 6 glass panels, LED lights hanging from the ceiling that flash to music and infinity mirrors, this area creates an endless 3D space effect, giving the feeling of actually floating between galaxies.
In addition, the "Amazing Science" area encourages visitors to conduct hands-on experiments on light, gravity and motion, helping learners grasp basic physical principles vividly.
The interaction continues with the “Transparent to Radiation” Tunnel – a tubular structure that uses programmable LED lights to create the illusion of passing through streams of cosmic radiation.
The "Solar System" area displays models of the Sun and planets with realistic lighting effects, providing a fresh perspective on our planetary system.
If the first floor is a place of inspiration, the second floor focuses on the power of technology and human progress in mastering space.
This area highlights Vietnam’s achievements with the LOTUSat-1 satellite model developed by the Vietnam Space Center. This is a concrete demonstration of the development of domestic space science and technology.
The passion for conquest is clearly demonstrated in the “Rocket Technology” area, which displays typical rocket models from the United States, Russia and Europe, along with cross-section models to explore the internal structure. Visitors can also experience assembling and launching simulated rockets.
The Space Station Operations section offers highly interactive experiences. Visitors can view a spaceship model that simulates the 24-hour life of an astronaut, directly control a robotic arm to collect space debris, and control a robot to explore Mars on a simulated terrain.
The "Space Technology and Life" area shows the impact of space technology on everyday life, including a modern weather forecasting experience.
The history of space exploration in Vietnam and the world is also recreated through a system of posters and satellite models in the "History of Space Exploration" area, evoking national pride in the country's scientific position.
In addition to the two main exhibition floors, the Center also features other specialized scientific areas, contributing to enriching the visitor experience.
Planetarium: With a 12 meter dome and a capacity of 100 people, equipped with a high-resolution projection system, providing a vivid space experience.
Observatory: Equipped with a 500 mm Ritchey-Chrétien reflecting optical telescope and a modern Echelle spectrum analyzer, for research and observation purposes.
Outdoor area: Displays miniature models of the Solar System, a sundial, and regularly hosts community astronomy observation events.
The Space Discovery Center is truly an ideal destination, connecting the past with the future, arousing curiosity and passion for scientific research for all ages.
“We believe that, from the experiences here, the public will see that space science is no longer far away but a part of life, contributing to promoting the Vietnamese space technology industry to reach further. This is the place where dreams are sown, where people begin their journey to conquer new horizons,” said a representative of the Vietnam Space Center.
