Inauguration of General Vo Nguyen Giap memorial house

On December 14, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Le Thuy district ( Quang Binh ) held an incense offering ceremony, inaugurated and put into use the Memorial House of General Vo Nguyen Giap in An Xa village, Loc Thuy commune.

Attending the ceremony were Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang; 40 generals of the People's Army and People's Police from Quang Binh, the family of General Vo Nguyen Giap and many local officials and people.

Leaders of Quang Binh province and Military Region 4 cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Memorial House of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The project, with a total investment of more than 35.8 billion VND, includes a Memorial House built on the mainland with the General's Memorial House.

The project is designed in the style of ancient Vietnamese houses, built with typical traditional materials including: green stone, ironwood... The three-entrance gate is made of monolithic natural stone, 2 main pillars are 6.2m high, 2 secondary pillars are 4.9m high.

The memorial area has two floors, the ground floor has a rectangular plan, the floor, surrounding walls, stairs, and handrails are made of green stone. The second floor has a traditional three-room wooden house architecture, the interior design is fully equipped for incense offering and ceremonies to ensure harmony and solemnity; highlighted by two parallel sentences: "Literature takes care of national affairs, literature becomes martial arts, Martial arts penetrate the hearts of the people, martial arts become literature".

Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong offered incense at the Memorial House of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The altar of General - Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap is placed in a central and solemn position. The second floor space is also a place to display and preserve memorabilia and artifacts associated with the General's life. The space of the grounds and landscape of the General Vo Nguyen Giap Memorial House is in harmony with the rural landscape of his hometown Le Thuy, as if highlighting the simple yet extremely noble style of the General, that is, the General always lives in the hearts of the people.

The General Vo Nguyen Giap Memorial House has just been invested in and built, along with the memorial house, where the ancestral altar associated with the General's childhood is an important "red" address, a place to educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and the pride of the people of Le Thuy district in particular and the whole country in general.
