Prosecuted 2 subjects using computer network to appropriate over 80 billion VND

The Provincial Police Department's Security Investigation Agency has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute two suspects for investigation into the act of using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic devices to appropriate property.

The two subjects are siblings, including: Tran The Huy (born in 1992), Executive Director and his sister Tran Thi My Hoang (born in 1994), Financial Director of Huy Hoang FN Service Company Limited. Both reside in Binh Khe commune, Gia Lai province.

According to the initial investigation results, since 2022, Tran The Huy has opened 9 branches in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai provinces, Ho Chi Minh City to sign contracts with financial companies, banks, and associate to consult on opening credit cards and lending cash to customers to receive commissions from affiliated partners.

To get customers, Huy and Hoang bought tens of thousands of customer data including full name, phone number, address and then assigned company employees to pretend to be bank employees to make calls to advise customers to open and withdraw money from credit cards. After people successfully opened cards, Huy's employees instructed customers to activate the cards, and at the same time enticed customers to withdraw cash through the opened bank cards by creating fake purchase invoices to pay on the applications Ngan Luong, MPOS, VNPay . For each withdrawal like that, Huy Hoang FN Company charged a fee of 5% to 10% on the amount withdrawn by cardholders.

From 2022 to present, using the above tricks, Huy Hoang FN Service Company Limited has consulted on opening more than 200,000 credit cards and instructed people to withdraw over 800 billion VND, thereby appropriating about 80 billion VND from hundreds of thousands of people across the country.

Based on the collected documents and evidence, the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department of Security Investigation has issued a decision to prosecute Tran The Huy and Tran Thi My Hoang for using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to appropriate property, as stipulated in Point a, Clause 4, Article 290 of the Penal Code. At the same time, an order to temporarily detain Tran The Huy for 4 months for investigation and an order to prohibit Tran Thi My Hoang from leaving her place of residence is issued because she is pregnant.

Dak Lak Provincial Police also informed those who are victims of Huy Hoang FN Service Company Limited to contact the Investigation Security Agency, Dak Lak Provincial Police as soon as possible to receive instructions on coordination, provide information, and clarify the criminal acts of the subjects.
