Prosecution and temporary detention of a group of subjects who broke into houses to steal money and gold

On the morning of October 9, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police announced that it had served the decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and order to detain Tran Quoc Anh, born in 2001; Bui Dang Khoa, born in 2008, both residing in My Thoi Ward (An Giang Province); Tran Trung Thuc, born in 2003; Le Thanh Huy, born in 1990, both residing in Long Xuyen Ward (An Giang Province) for the crime of "Theft of property"; Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, born in 2002, residing in Long Xuyen Ward for the crime of "Receiving property obtained by others through crime", and at the same time banned Nguyen Sang Ngoc Anh, born in 2003, residing in Long Xuyen Ward from leaving the place of residence for the crime of "Receiving property obtained by others through crime".

According to the investigation agency, because he had no money to spend, Quoc Anh invited Khoa, Thuc and Huy to go find other people's property to steal.

At about 3:00 a.m. on September 24, 2025, knowing the daily routine of Mrs. Le Thi Be Sau's family (born in 1971, residing in My Thoi ward, An Giang province) who often went early to Lo Xa market area (My Thoi ward) to sell pork, Quoc Anh, Khoa, Thuc and Huy planned to break into Mrs. Sau's house to steal property.

Quoc Anh and Khoa assigned each other to stand near where Mrs. Sau's family sold goods and at the house to keep watch while Thuc and Huy broke into the house to search, stole 4 24K gold rings, 2 18K gold rings, 1 gold necklace, 1 24K gold bracelet, 1 white gold earring, 1 pair of 18K gold earrings and 3 million VND. The total value of the stolen assets was about 500 million VND.

The group brought the stolen property to the residence of Thuy Duong and Ngoc Anh (girlfriends of Quoc Anh and Thuc). Afterwards, Thuy Duong and Ngoc Anh sold the stolen gold and divided the money to spend.

Receiving the victim's report, the Provincial Police Criminal Police arrived at the scene to verify, investigate and screen the suspects. Using professional measures, they discovered and arrested Quoc Anh, Khoa, Thuc, Huy, Thuy Duong and Ngoc Anh while they were hiding in Long Xuyen ward.
