Many people believe that the entrance exam for grade 10 in public schools in recent years is more stressful and pressured than the entrance exam for university, why is that?

The entrance exam for grade 10 in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City has never cooled down. This is because the number of places in public schools is limited, while most parents want their children to study at these schools.
It can be said that passing the 10th grade of a public school is the goal of many candidates today because it is suitable for the economic conditions of their families. If they do not have enough points to pass their first and second choices, students must accept another option such as a private high school.
In fact, vocational training for 15-year-olds has not really made parents feel secure. Meanwhile, prestigious private schools are not the optimal choice for poor children because of the high tuition fees. And therefore, no exam in our country has brought as many tears as the race to enter grade 10. This is considered a stressful and pressured exam for 15-year-olds.
While university admissions have many "doors" to choose from, winning a place in grade 10 of a public school is limited to just one exam. Because of the high competition and high competition rate, students unintentionally become "war horses". Many students are stressed, tense, and even faint while studying for the exam to be able to pass the top public school. There are students who have to study several "shifts" a day to make the most of their time. There are also many students who finish their exam review class at 11 pm and then continue studying online...
In addition to the lack of places in public schools, the pressure students have been under in recent years due to their parents’ expectations of them in exams. At their age, they are eager to prove themselves and have too many expectations and dreams. Therefore, if they fail the exam, many of them will collapse.
Up to now, some high schools have announced the exam scores and admission scores. Some students got into the high school they wanted, some missed their deadline. Feeling disappointed and frustrated because the opportunity to enter the 10th grade door is not easy. But an exam is not everything, nor does it reflect the ability of each person.
Consider this a test for young people, so that each person can clearly understand their own abilities. And on the path to conquering knowledge, each person will realize what they have and what they need to do to improve themselves. That journey of challenging ourselves helps us to become more mature. Therefore, do not just look at the results to evaluate your own abilities, and do not be disappointed in yourself.
At this time, it is also very important to manage emotions positively. Someone once said: failing an exam does not mean failing in life. Indeed, the important thing is that we always innovate, adapt and learn, and make continuous efforts.
But in reality, failing in exams often causes psychological trauma to candidates if they are not supported properly and promptly. Therefore, parents also need to give their children the right to fail, help them face and accept defeat in a positive way. Exams are not everything, the important thing is how to help children have healthy and correct coping skills.
In fact, many great people have failed before they succeeded. Thomas Edison failed more than 10,000 times to invent the light bulb. Every time he failed, he told himself, "Ah, I've found another way to keep the light bulb from working."
I was very impressed by someone's saying: "The sky does not fall just because you failed an exam." Each young person has a different way to enter life, not just finishing high school and going to university is the only way to be successful.
Parents should tell their children that failure is a part of life. One door may close but another will open for them. The important thing is how they approach it and how they handle it in the coming years. Parents should also learn to accompany their children so that they do not feel alone after the shock of failing an exam.
The 10th grade entrance exam is just a competition, we cannot only look at the results to evaluate a person's ability and qualities. Meanwhile, the experiences after each failure are very important, helping students to be more confident, brave, and mature in the future. I hope young people always remember that each failure is an opportunity to become a better version of themselves, because "without pressure, there are no diamonds"...
