(NLDO)- Payment of additional income must be ensured before teachers and students take the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025.

At the conference to review the first semester and deploy tasks for the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year for secondary education of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Duy Tan, Head of the Secondary Education Department - Department of Education and Training, said that before Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning was issued, Ho Chi Minh City had implemented the ban on extra teaching in schools, so in reality, it did not affect the current teaching and learning in schools.

According to the Department of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing 2-session teaching per day. 2-session teaching per day at schools must be carried out in accordance with regulations so as not to be understood as "disguised extra teaching". Students' classes must not be cut off so that they can be misunderstood as extra teaching or learning in school. The Department of Education and Training also requested that schools not force students to attend supplementary classes for subjects.

In response to the opinions of many educational institutions on the new regulations on extra teaching and learning, a representative of the City Department of Education and Training said that currently, functional departments and offices are consulting with the department to issue documents guiding the implementation of the regulations of Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the second semester, schools need to review the school's education plan, the 2-session/day education plan, in which it is necessary to properly implement the regulations of Circular 29.

In addition, teaching two sessions a day must be carried out in accordance with the instructions of the City Department of Education and Training. "Schools and teachers need to carefully study the provisions of this circular to implement it correctly and closely, to avoid the situation of teaching and learning extra classes contrary to regulations" - Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc emphasized.

According to Mr. Huy, the payment of additional income must be ensured before the time when teachers and students have Tet holiday.
