Coincidentally, Quang Duong and Phuc Huynh are both on the pickleball teams participating in the Global Pickleball League in the professional category, which will take place from December 16 to 23 in Mumbai.

Quang Duong plays for Mumbai Chhatrapati Warriors with an auction price of 27 lakhs (more than 800 million VND), the highest among 100 international pickleball players selected on September 7.

The Vietnamese pickleball prodigy is the center of attention in this tournament. Quang Duong is dominating India with 2 championship titles in the recent Monsoon 2.0 tournament, and showing his invincibility.

Meanwhile, Phuc Huynh will play for Bengaluru Blazers. The PPA Asia - Vietnam Open 2025 champion and Quang Duong are the two Vietnamese players invited to participate in GPL 2025.

Quang Duong currently has a DUPR score for singles (pickleball skill) of 6.865 (doubles: 6.602), while Phuc Huynh has a DUPR score for singles on the system of 6.282 (doubles: 5.816).

The two met at the Australian Open in February 2025, Quang Duong won 2-0 (11-5, 11-4) to win the bronze medal in professional singles at the PPA Tour Australia.

The GPL 2025 tournament will feature 10 teams of 10 players each. There will be 5 professional players and 5 semi-professional players called "challengers". The teams will compete against each other for 8 consecutive days.

Athletes will compete for a total prize pool of up to 500,000 USD (about 13 billion VND).

This tournament will certainly receive attention from Vietnamese pickleball audiences. Because both of Vietnam's top pickleball players are present and have the potential to clash.

Phuc Huynh has just won the PPA Asia - Vietnam Open 2025, after defeating Ly Hoang Nam 2-0. Meanwhile, Quang Duong was not allowed to attend PPA Asia due to a contract dispute with the tournament organizer.

Quang Duong's absence from PPA Asia right in Vietnam has left many disappointed for the home audience. Once ranked 4th in the PPA Ranking in the US, but now he is a free athlete.

Quang Duong is currently in Vietnam to participate in some personal pickleball promotion activities. It is expected that in the near future, Quang Duong will go to China to continue promoting his personal brand.
