The family of Duong Ngoc Yen, grade 6, Mau Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Ba Son commune is a near-poor household. Yen shared: Seeing my parents working hard every day to make a living, I always tell myself to try my best to study well so as not to let them down. Thanks to that, for many years in a row, I have achieved the title of good and excellent student and have been awarded by the school's Student Support Committee. Notably, in the 2025-2026 school year, through the school's Student Support Committee, I received a scholarship worth 500,000 VND from the provincial Student Support Committee. For me, this is a great concern and encouragement that helps me to be more determined in studying and training to become a useful person for society in the future.
Not only Yen, in recent times, the whole province has had many students with high academic achievements and difficult circumstances receive gifts and scholarships from the Provincial Student Association in coordination with units and benefactors. From 2024 to present, the association has coordinated to reward, support, and award scholarships to over 381,500 students with a total value of over 19.4 billion VND. Since 2025, the association has expanded the recipients of scholarships and support. Specifically, from the beginning of the year until now, the association has awarded scholarships to 270 students in the province's border communes with a total value of 135 million VND; coordinated to award gifts to 160 children of workers and low-income workers with a total value of 80 million VND; awarded "Learning Never Ends" scholarships to 15 elderly people participating in literacy classes with a total value of 15 million VND...
Ms. Nguyen Minh Chau, Chairman of the Provincial Student Association, said: Over the years, the association has always closely followed the local political tasks, focusing on mobilizing social resources from agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists, etc. to support students to have more conditions to study and improve their knowledge. Thanks to that, many students with difficult circumstances have received timely support, adding motivation for them to excel in their studies. This is also an important foundation contributing to the building of an increasingly developed learning society.
An important highlight is that the association builds and maintains a scholarship fund in many creative and flexible ways. Specifically, the association proactively propagates and mobilizes philanthropists, agencies, businesses, etc. to support the fund; the HKH at the district level (old), the HKH branches of clans, villages, blocks, schools, etc. across the province also actively mobilize and build the fund. From 2024 to now alone, the scholarship fund mobilized by the associations at all levels in the province has reached nearly 20 billion VND. Thereby, a widespread fund network has been formed, ensuring long-term resources for scholarship work.
In particular, since the beginning of the school year, the Provincial Student Association has directed grassroots associations to grasp the number of students in difficult circumstances, poor students with high academic achievements or students with disabilities, serious illnesses, etc. to prioritize support and award scholarships to them. The Association proactively coordinates with agencies and mass organizations to promptly support students in especially difficult circumstances. For example, in December 2024, understanding the difficult circumstances of the family of Lo Thi Truc, class 9A, Thanh Son Primary and Secondary School, Thien Tan commune (father passed away early, mother raised 3 children alone to study), the family lives in a seriously degraded house, the school's Student Association coordinated with the District Youth Union (old) to mobilize socialized resources of nearly 70 million VND to support her family to build a new house, helping her go to school with peace of mind.
Every year, the association also coordinates to mobilize social resources to invest in building infrastructure for teaching and learning, eliminating temporary classrooms, investing in building more schools in remote areas... Ms. Ha Thi Thu, Party Cell Secretary, Principal, Head of the Student Association of Xuan Long Primary School, Khanh Khe Commune said: From the 2024-2025 school year up to now, we have mobilized social resources to build 2 classrooms with a total value of more than 340 million VND. Thereby, contributing to helping students have better learning conditions.
The above synchronous solutions demonstrate the companionship of HKH from the provincial to grassroots levels, promptly sharing and encouraging students to overcome difficult circumstances, make efforts, strive to become good children, good students and achieve many achievements in studying and training. At the same time, contributing to improving the quality of education in the province. For example, in the 2024 - 2025 school year, the whole province has 34 national excellent student awards (an increase of 1 award compared to the 2023 - 2024 school year); 3 national science and technology awards for high school students (2 second place, 1 third place); 2 national startup awards for students (1 second place, 1 third place) ...
