Group E and F of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 are having a complicated scenario, promising many surprises in the final round.

After two matches in Group E of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, River Plate and Inter Milan have 4 points each, sharing the top 2 positions (River Plate is ranked higher thanks to a better goal difference). In 3rd place is Monterrey with 2 points, while Urawa Red has no points, is temporarily at the bottom of the table and has been eliminated.

Complicated scenario in group E

With the current scores, it is easy to see that the three teams River Plate, Inter Milan and Monterrey will compete for the two tickets to continue in group E.

In the final round, River Plate and Inter Milan will face each other, while Monterrey will face Urawa Red.

The winner of the match between River Plate and Inter Milan will of course advance as the top team.

In Group F, Fluminense and Borussia Dortmund have 4 points each, sharing the top 2 positions (Fluminense is ranked higher thanks to better goal difference). In third place is Mamelodi Sundowns with 3 points.

These three teams will compete for 2 tickets to the next round in the final round, where Fluminense will face Mamelodi Sundowns, while Dortmund will meet Usan HD (bottom of the table, already eliminated).

The Group F situation is not too difficult to imagine. Fluminense need a draw with Mamelodi Sundowns to advance, but the Brazilian team wants a win to ensure top spot. Similarly, Dortmund only need 1 point against Usan HD to qualify, while a win will keep their hopes of winning the group alive.

For Mamelodi Sundowns, their only way is to defeat Fluminense to get a ticket to continue.
