This morning, December 24, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the work of irrigation, field sanitation, rat extermination, golden apple snail extermination, mimosa tree extermination, and collection of used pesticide packaging in Cam Lo, Vinh Linh, and Trieu Phong districts.

To ensure water supply for agricultural production and minimize damage caused by epidemics, and protect the ecological environment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a plan to organize irrigation, clean fields, kill rats, golden apple snails, and collect used pesticide packages.

The implementation time is maintained throughout the growth and development of crops in localities in the province. In particular, the peak week to launch the movement is from December 20 to 30; December 24 is chosen to organize a simultaneous launching ceremony in localities in the province. In particular, each district chooses 1 key agricultural production commune to organize the launching ceremony.

Through the plan, it aims to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of each citizen, relevant departments and local authorities in organizing production associated with protecting the ecological environment; forming long-term and sustainable habits among the people regarding irrigation work and awareness and sense of responsibility in repairing and renovating irrigation works, pumping stations, intra-field canals, dredging water flows, preventing flooding, using water economically and effectively and preventing water pollution.

Ensure timely irrigation and drainage for production, increase productivity. Clean the fields, eliminate pests and diseases that harm crops, ensure clean and safe fields when entering the production season. Kill rats, golden apple snails and mimosa plants simultaneously and in a concentrated manner to protect the productivity and yield of all crops, minimize damage caused by rats, golden apple snails and mimosa plants.

Propaganda and launch a movement for the entire population to participate in collecting and disposing of pesticide packages in the right place.
