Surprise inspection discovered many violations of extra teaching and learning

(NLDO)- Relevant authorities discovered many violations at a number of tutoring centers in Binh Tan district, including extra teaching and learning activities.

During a surprise inspection on March 11, Binh Hung Hoa A Ward (Binh Tan District) discovered many violations at a number of tutoring centers in the ward.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of March 11, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hai - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Hung Hoa A Ward, Binh Tan District led the ward's education inspection team to inspect many tutoring centers and additional teaching facilities located in the ward.

Based on the inspection report, at the Ý Mỹ Tutoring Center, the inspection team recorded that the ground floor of the center had 2 rooms, 1 small room with 13 students from 3 primary schools: Binh Thuan , Phu Dong and Lac Hong, most of them studying Vietnamese and math at grade 3; the larger room had 24 students studying math, Vietnamese and English at primary level. These two rooms were connected without partitions.

The Ý Mỹ tutoring center has a fire prevention plan, but it has not been approved by the authorities. This center provides boarding services for students, but has not provided a food safety record.

This center has a business registration license, but it has a boarding school that is not listed in the license; it has not posted a list of teachers or tuition fees. Many signs of the Ý Mỹ Tutoring Center are incorrect.

This center does not post tuition fees, timetables, or list of teachers according to Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning.

At Thien Ngan Tutoring Center, at the time of inspection, there were 18 children (mostly students from Phu Dong Primary School) being kept by the center, with no commitment between parents and the facility.

This center does not list tuition fees, timetables, or teacher lists according to Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning. Many teachers and staff of the center do not have proper labor contracts, and the center's fire prevention and fighting records have not been approved.

At the time of the inspection, members of the inspection team noted that at Thien Ngan Center, there were many cooking utensils for large groups of people, plastic tables and chairs for dining, a room with a sign saying dining room and bedroom, and many personal blankets for students. Many of the center's signs were also not in accordance with the business registration license regulations...

Previously, according to the reflection of many local residents, many tutoring centers in this ward had primary school students coming to study. Meanwhile, according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 4, Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning, it is clearly stated that the cases where extra teaching and learning are not allowed are for primary school students, except for cases of arts, sports and life skills training.
