On the afternoon of December 7, the Center for National Defense and Security Education - Hue University coordinated with Loc Gia Company and Education and Times Newspaper to organize a training program on "Skills for safe use of social networks and school drugs" for students of the 233rd course in 2023.

On the side of the Steering Committee, the training course was organized by journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education & Times Newspaper; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thien - Deputy Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education - Hue University; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Director of Loc Gia Company Hanoi Branch.

In addition, about 700 staff, lecturers and students attended the training session.

At the program, there was a special report on "Safe Social Networking Skills" presented by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dao Trung Hieu - an expert from the Ministry of Public Security. According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Hieu, the current risks of social networks are lack of verification, information is difficult to identify the source, has motives such as fraud, slander, fabrication, distortion, so it is complicated and causes confusion.

“You should only post or share useful, humane, benevolent, and constructive information. Use cultured language, be humorous, and create joy for the online community and friends. Do not post, share, or comment on information of unknown origin and accuracy,” Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dao Trung Hieu informed.

Recognizing and preventing drugs in schools

The topic "Prevention of drug use in schools" presented by Major Nguyen Van Hoan - an expert from the Ministry of Public Security also provided a lot of useful knowledge for students such as the concept of drugs, current types of drugs, drug classification, the harmful effects of drug use on human health... thereby providing ways to prevent drug use to equip students.

Le Minh Thang, a student of the International Faculty, Hue University, who was once the Secretary of the Youth Union, excelled in distinguishing between crystal meth, ketamine, and heroin when answering a question from Major Nguyen Van Hoan. He received praise from many delegates for his good knowledge in drug prevention as well as dissemination to his classmates.
