Along with the growth and maturity of the Vietnam Border Guard force, since its establishment in 1975 until now, generations of officers and soldiers of La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station have always promoted the heroic tradition in combat, training, overcoming difficulties, staying at the front line of the border, sharing weal and woe, uniting with the people to excellently complete the task, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, border lines, national border markers, maintaining political security, social order and safety; participating with localities in socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, building an increasingly strong grassroots political system.

With the spirit of turning towards the border, building and protecting a strong border, over the past 30 years, the cadres and people of Cam Lo district have organized sponsorship and twinning with the La Lay International Border Guard Station with many meaningful and practical activities such as donating clean water works, traditional houses, fruit gardens, computers, means of transport... with a total value of more than 700 million VND.

Through twinning and sponsorship activities, it has contributed to strengthening the military-civilian solidarity relationship; helping all levels and sectors from district to grassroots, cadres and people better understand the purpose and meaning of "National Border Guard Day", understand more about the border guard force, the border, sovereignty and territory, thereby enhancing the sentiment and responsibility of cadres and people towards the border, creating conditions and encouragement for border people and border guards to confidently stay at the border of the Fatherland, creating an increasingly solid national posture to protect the border.

At the ceremony, Cam Lo district presented La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station with a set of computers and a photocopier worth 100 million VND.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province awarded certificates of merit to the people and officials of Cam Lo district for their achievements in implementing the twinning policy between Cam Lo district and La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station, period 1994-2024.
