“New breeze” for Dong Nai tourism

Dong Nai tourism industry is welcoming a “new wind” after the province’s merger, with advantages and potential for eco-tourism in forests, waterfalls, lakes; spiritual destinations, red addresses, famous landmarks are being surveyed by tourism and travel businesses, preparing to launch new Dong Nai experience tour products.

Dong Nai owns two national parks (NPQG) Bu Gia Map and Cat Tien, famous for their unique forest habitats and biodiversity with rare species of animals and plants, along with Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve, famous forests. Impressive destinations

Dong Nai has many impressive destinations, achieving domestic and international titles such as: Dak Mai Waterfall at Bu Gia Map National Park (Bu Gia Map commune) was honored as Top 7 eco-tourism destinations with impressive landscapes in 2023; Cat Tien National Park has Bau Crocodile area recognized as Top 7 eco-tourism destinations in 2023. Notably, in 2024, Cat Tien National Park will be the 72nd conservation area in the world and the first national park in Vietnam to achieve the IUCN Green List title recognized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

In addition, the province also has many other tourist areas and spots in the top impressive destinations rated by tourists such as: Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area (Dai Phuoc Commune) in the Top 10 most favorite ecotourism destinations in 2024; Panorama Glamping Destination (La Nga Commune) recognized as the world's glamping destination in 2024; Tropical Eglamping Destination (La Nga Commune) recognized by the Luxury Travel Awards Organization as the world's glamping destination in 2024. Or Chua Chan Mountain and Ba Ra Mountain are known as the "second" and "third" heavenly mountains (after Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh Province) and are considered the center for organizing sports and entertainment events, forest exploration tours, and wild nature in the Southeast region.

Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Tran Thi Thu Trang said: After the merger, with new tourism advantages and potentials, the center has developed a plan to conduct a survey of destinations in the province, building new tourism products for Dong Nai. With the task of closely following the province's tourism development theme in 2025: "Dong Nai tourism takes off with aviation", the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will build tourism products connecting from Long Thanh International Airport to unique tourist destinations of Dong Nai in the direction of exploring border gate areas, experiencing nature and the lives of people in border areas in Dong Nai. It is expected that the new tourism product will be launched at the end of 2025.

Developing unique tourism products

Dong Nai has many famous tourist areas such as: Buu Long, My Le, Son Tien, Son Ha Swallow Island... and historical revolutionary destinations such as: War Zone D, Southern Vietnam Liberation Army Command Base (Ta Thiet Base), Stieng Ethnic Cultural Conservation Area in Bom Bo... spread across Dong Nai. In addition to exploiting and developing tourism at destinations, Dong Nai as well as travel businesses inside and outside the province are very interested in connecting tours and new tourism experiences.

Based on the province's tourism product development orientations, recently, a number of agencies and units have proactively surveyed, built and effectively exploited typical local tourism products such as: source tourism, forest ecotourism and weekend picnic tourism; spiritual tourism products associated with meditation instruction activities and volunteer tourism products associated with experiential activities.

Specifically: eco-tourism tour with destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City - My Le eco-tourism area - Bang Lang hill - Bu Gia Map National Park; cultural experience tour of Ho Chi Minh City - Son Ha Swallow Island tourist area - Stieng ethnic cultural conservation area in Bom Bo - Bu Lach grassland; source tour of the Provincial Museum - Van Thanh Buddhist pagoda - Ta Thiet base...

As one of the destinations with connections and developing tours in Dong Nai, Director of My Le Eco-tourism Area (Binh Tan Commune, Dong Nai Province) Tran Hong Hai shared: My Le tourist area has an area of ​​48 hectares. After nearly 20 years of operation, the tourist area has a position in the tourism market with a stable number of visitors. On holidays and Tet, this place attracts local tourists; in the summer, more tourists come from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

In recent years, Dong Nai has attracted nearly 1 trillion VND in business capital to develop new tourism products such as: Son Tien Tourist Area put into operation the Son Tien Amazing World theme park, with many high-quality entertainment activities; Bo Cap Vang Tourist Area put into operation the waterfall bathing area; Dong Nai Nature - Culture Reserve opened an accommodation area at Ba Hao Lake; Dinh Quan district put into operation the adventure tourism product "Dinh Quan Calls"... to increase tourist attraction.

Mr. Tran Hong Hai commented: Dong Nai has great potential with natural landscapes, cultural characteristics, and unique cuisine. To develop local tourism, Dong Nai needs to connect and link to develop new destinations and tourist routes, creating new features and unique products for Dong Nai tourism.

Chairman of Dong Nai Province Tourism Association Pham Huong Son said: The Association will always try to follow the direction of the provincial leaders, build programs and plans, create connections between tourism businesses in the province to join hands to promote the development of the tourism industry in the coming time according to the set plan.

Discussing the tourism development situation in the coming time, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: The tourism industry will continue to direct the promotion of propaganda to raise social awareness about tourism development.
