About spring village
An said cheerfully on the phone: “I just arrived at our village. Come back and have fun.” That day was January 16. She came back first to take care of the village temple worshiping ceremony at the beginning of the year, visit relatives, and then go on a spring outing. I knew for sure that her spring outings were always around the village and the beaches of my hometown.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An is originally from Bau Tron village, Dai An (Dai Loc). She has lived in Saigon for nearly 40 years and has a solid foundation in the city. Every year, she returns to her hometown for a few days after Tet, even though her house in the countryside no longer exists.
For Ms. An, as well as many other descendants of Bau Tron village who work far away, returning to the village means returning to their roots, because: "The foreign land is so vast and narrow / Hometown is a corner of immense memories!" (Trinh Buu Hoai).
Walking to the village temple, Ms. An confided: Every year I return to my hometown after Tet, you could call it returning to the village, or it could be said that I return to my hometown for tourism . Tourism is about sightseeing, learning, exploring the land, culture, history, people, but ultimately it is about finding peace in your soul.
My village has remained the same for many years. The people are still simple and honest; the concrete roads are still shady; the village fields are still green all year round…
But the feelings of those who come back to the village for spring travel are different every year. “The village is getting more and more bustling and developed, but every time we return, those who are far from home are always warmly welcomed by the villagers, just like the days when we were villagers,” Ms. An confided.
Experience the countryside
From the rustic villages of the Southern river delta to the famous ancient villages in the North such as Duong Lam ancient village, Bat Trang pottery village (Hanoi) or Dong Ho village (Bac Ninh)... all attract a large number of spring tourists. Likewise, the craft villages or villages rich in traditional culture in Quang Nam also bring tourists interesting experiences.
Coming to Hoi An, besides visiting the lush green Tra Que vegetable garden, tourists can experience being a farmer, planting and taking care of vegetables themselves, or enjoy specialties served with vegetables such as banh xeo and cao lau.
Then you can admire the exquisite ceramic products in Thanh Ha pottery village, nearly 500 years old; experience the role of a handmade potter and bring home products created by your own hands. Go to Kim Bong carpentry village to learn about the traditional art of wood carving, buy small, beautiful handmade products as gifts...
For those who love ancient values and pristine beauty, Loc Yen ancient village is an option. Not only the scenery but also the hearts of people suddenly become peaceful when walking on the village road with stone fences or stone steps.
On the sea side, Tam Thanh mural village (Tam Ky) is also an interesting destination for those who love art, nature and want to learn about the life of fishermen...
Spring comes with brilliant flowers and leaves. This year, the apricot flowers of Quang Nam bloom late. After the Lantern Festival, the yellow apricot flowers bloom, shining brightly in every corner of the yard. Coincidentally, these days, the bright yellow ancient apricot trees in Phu Bong (Duy Xuyen), Loc Yen (Tien Phuoc) or Dien Ban, Dai Loc... have become check-in spots for many people.
The owners of these apricot trees also happily welcome people from far away or neighbors to come take pictures, making the post-Tet atmosphere much warmer, feeling like Tet is being "extended"...
People who like to travel to the countryside often travel spontaneously, without following a tour. However, to grasp this demand and tourism trend, in parallel with investing in infrastructure and designing experiential tours, the government and tourism businesses need to try to preserve the beauty of each village, preserve and maintain green spaces...
