Lao Cai: Local farmers urgently harvest spring rice

Introduce mechanization into spring rice harvesting.

This year's spring rice crop, the whole province planted 9,835 hectares, equal to 100.4% of the plan, of which Lao Cai city has 478 hectares, Bat Xat has more than 1,000 hectares, Bao Thang has more than 1,576 hectares, Van Ban has 3,360 hectares, Bao Yen has 2,600 hectares, Muong Khuong has 424 hectares, Bac Ha has 393 hectares.

Up to now, local farmers have harvested 3,103 hectares, reaching 31.5% of the cultivated area, equivalent to the same period in the spring crop of 2023. Specifically, Bao Thang harvested 1,088 hectares, Bao Yen harvested 832 hectares, Van Ban harvested 723 hectares, Bat Xat harvested 460 hectares.

Along with focusing on harvesting spring rice, localities also urge people to plow the land immediately after harvest and prepare enough fertilizers and materials for crop production, especially in localities with a tradition of growing the third crop (growing winter crops on rice land).
