Celebration, parade, marching on the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2

On September 2, at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi City solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The event was attended by about 30,000 people (not including the parade and marching forces), along with armed forces and the masses, with large-scale parade and marching activities, demonstrating the heroic spirit, solidarity and national pride.

Attending the ceremony were: General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, President Luong Cuong; Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, along with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations; leaders of several provinces and centrally-run cities; revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of labor; armed forces generals; representatives of veterans, former police officers, former youth volunteers, former frontline workers; war invalids, families of martyrs, and outstanding meritorious people; representatives of ethnic minorities and outstanding religious dignitaries; leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee through the periods; representatives of all walks of life and the Vietnamese community abroad.

The celebration also had high-level international delegations, including: High-level delegation of the Party and State of the Lao People's Democratic Republic led by General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith; High-level delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia led by Mr. Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia; Delegation of the Party and State of the Republic of Cuba led by First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; High-level delegation of the Party and State of China led by Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji; Delegation of the Party and State of the Republic of Belarus led by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko; The delegation of the Russian Federation was headed by Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Political Party, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Yakushev.

There were also: General Secretary of the Dominican United Left Movement Party, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Great Britain; representatives of political party leaders, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Ministries of Defense of countries from Asia, Europe, Africa to America; Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires, Consuls General, Heads of international organizations, defense attachés of countries in Vietnam; and many international friends supporting the Vietnamese people in the cause of national liberation, innovation and development of the country.

After the solemn flag-saluting ceremony, General Secretary To Lam delivered an important speech, emphasizing the great historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, commemorating President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs, affirming the role of the great national unity bloc, the aspiration to develop a strong and prosperous country and the determination to protect independence and sovereignty in the new period.

Opening the parade on Ba Dinh Square, the aircraft squadrons of the Vietnam People's Air Force - from Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters carrying the national flag and the Party flag, to Casa C-295, C212i transport aircraft, Yak-130, L-39NG trainer aircraft and Su-30MK2 fighter jets - flew in the sky, demonstrating the strength, bravery, intelligence and pride of the air force, affirming the ability to protect sovereignty and the aspiration to develop the country in the new era.

At the same time, at Cam Ranh Military Base (Khanh Hoa), armed forces, including command ships; maritime patrol aircraft, anti-submarine helicopters; submarine squadrons, missile frigates, anti-submarine frigates, fast attack missile boats, gunboats of the Vietnam People's Navy; squadrons of ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Border Guard and Standing Militia Fleet, along with many other modern vehicles and equipment, paraded at sea.

At Ba Dinh Square, 87 parade groups, including: 4 ceremonial groups; 13 mass groups; 22 army groups; 3 militia and guerrilla groups; 17 police groups; 14 military vehicle and artillery groups; 9 special police vehicle groups and the red flag group, entered the stage in turn.

The event also had the participation of parade forces from four guest countries, divided into four blocs: Chinese Army Bloc, Russian Army Bloc, Lao Army Bloc and Cambodian Army Bloc.

At the parade, the People's Army brought more than 20 types of special vehicles and equipment. Trucks and SUVs were used to transport weapons.

In the solemn and heroic atmosphere of the Anniversary Ceremony, the entire Party, people and army commemorated President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs and those who devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause, taking the spirit of the August Revolution and National Day as the driving force to build a sustainable and developed country.
