The 2023 AFC U17 Championship kicked off on June 15. However, the Vietnamese team will not have their opening match until June 17.
U17 Vietnam is in a difficult group at U17 Asia 2023
In the group stage, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will face U17 India (June 17), U17 Japan (June 20) and U17 Uzbekistan (June 23).
The 16 teams participating in the 2023 AFC U17 Championship are divided into 4 groups, competing at 4 stadiums: Rajamangala, Pathum Thani, Thammasat and Chonburi.
The teams will compete in a round robin format. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
This year's tournament is also the Asian qualifier for the U17 World Cup 2023.
The four strongest representatives of Asia will win tickets to the tournament held in Peru next October.
