These days, Son Tra communal house (Tan Dinh ward, Ho Chi Minh City) attracts many people and tourists to visit. This place is displaying the exhibition "Fire-picking horse - Lighting up memories" with dozens of ancient mid-autumn lanterns, made by the Khoi Dang Tac Khi group for nearly a year.
The highlight of this exhibition is the image of the praying mantis placed in front of the altar. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet (member of the Khoi Dang Tac Khi group), the praying mantis is an animal associated with many folk songs and proverbs and is currently listed in the Vietnam Red Book.
"We built this mantis-shaped lantern with the desire to contribute to preserving and spreading culture as well as adding our voice to the conservation of biodiversity," said Ms. Nguyet.

Many visitors were also amazed by the image of the 20m-long Dai Long dragon lantern, which was inspired by the image of the dragon lantern procession at the Phu Day festival ( Nam Dinh , now Ninh Binh province) more than 100 years ago.
This is the result of nearly a month of hard work by many members of Khoi Dang Tac Khi. The majestic dragon attracts many tourists to stop and admire and take souvenir photos.
In addition, the exhibition also introduces many lanterns shaped like fish, crabs, carps, etc., along with figurines and butterfly parasols carrying many cultural messages, which delight many visitors.
Knowing about this exhibition while surfing social networks, Ms. Le Nguyen Quynh Nhu and her family immediately came to visit. She said that every year when the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, her family spends time participating in traditional cultural events.
“My children and I are very impressed by the scale, ingenuity and sophistication of each exhibition product, which clearly shows the passion of the artisans. Through each event like this, I hope my children will gradually have more love and interest in learning about the history and culture of the Vietnamese people,” Ms. Nhu expressed.
It is known that the activity takes place from 2:00 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. every day and ends on October 12, at Son Tra communal house (Tan Dinh ward, Ho Chi Minh City). This communal house was built by the community of residents from Quang Nam , Da Nang in the 1860s.
