Masan completes raising capital worth 250 million USD from foreign funds

Masan Group has just announced that it has successfully completed the capital mobilization of 250 million USD from Bain Capital - the world's leading private equity fund with total assets under management of approximately 180 billion USD. The capital mobilized is converted at 25,356 VND, equivalent to Masan receiving 6,228 billion VND from this investment (after deducting transaction fees), helping to significantly improve the company's balance sheet.

Masan has received $250 million in investment capital from Bain Capital fund.

Masan will continue to actively seek alternatives to reduce leverage and interest expense with the target of net debt to EBITDA of long-term USD debt on reasonable terms with the principal amount of USD 950 million converted to VND at 23,937 and fixed interest rate at 8.93% per annum. Accordingly, Interest Rate Swaps combined with forward FX for the principal amount of USD 45 million in 2024 at FX 24,005; the amount of USD 300 million with fixed interest rate of 6.48% per annum for 5 years at 1-year FX at VND 23,790 to minimize currency and interest rate risks. Therefore, the recent appreciation of the USD does not have a material impact on the company's profits.

On April 20, Techcombank - an affiliate of Masan - approved a plan to pay a 15% cash dividend. Masan is expected to receive more than VND1,000 billion from Techcombank's dividend. This will help the company reduce its financial leverage.
