Moc Chau earns more than 1,300 billion VND during plum blossom season

In the first two months of this year, the number of tourists to Moc Chau Town (Son La Province) increased dramatically, with more than 1 million arrivals, tourism revenue reached more than 1,300 billion VND. Plum blossom season is the reason why tourists flock to this plateau.

Sharing with Thanh Nien , Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of Moc Chau Town People's Committee, said that the local tourism industry had a bumper crop in the first two months of the year, when the number of visitors increased dramatically compared to the same period in previous years.

According to statistics from the authorities of Moc Chau town, from January 1 to February 28, there were more than 1 million visitors to Moc Chau for sightseeing and tourism. Estimated revenue from tourism activities reached over 1,300 billion VND.

"The number of visitors to Moc Chau has doubled, setting a record for tourism revenue in the first two months of the year," said Ms. Hoa.

The attractive point that attracts visitors to Moc Chau this year is the plum blossom season , which is also the most beautiful plum blossom season in many years and right on the occasion of Tet holiday, so many people, companies, units... choose Moc Chau for spring travel.

Moc Chau town has about 300 hotels and motels. Since the Lunar New Year, many of them have always been fully booked. On weekends, the number of visitors to Moc Chau has increased dramatically, forcing the locality to mobilize residents' houses for guests to stay.

Tourists coming to Moc Chau town have helped many businesses and gardeners increase their income. Plum gardens open to welcome visitors, commonly charging 30,000 VND/person for check-in. Restaurants are always crowded, photographers, motorbike taxi drivers, taxi drivers... have more jobs and high income.

Also according to the People's Committee of Moc Chau Town, although the number of tourists to this locality has increased dramatically, there has been no situation of arbitrarily raising service prices or "ripping off" tourists.
