Heavy rain due to storm No. 3, many central streets of Thanh Hoa were severely flooded

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of July 22, the effects of storm No. 3 became increasingly evident. In Thanh Hoa province, prolonged heavy rains and strong winds caused many urban roads to begin to be partially flooded.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (Wipha), from the evening of July 21 to the morning of July 22, Thanh Hoa experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing deep flooding on many roads in central wards such as Le Loi Avenue, Le Hoan Street, Han Thuyen, Le Quy Don, affecting people's daily life and travel.

On Le Loi Avenue - the main traffic axis of Hac Thanh Ward, many sections of rainwater rose from 20 to 40 cm, causing traffic difficulties for many vehicles, forcing many to turn around and find other directions.

Similar scenes also took place on Le Hoan, Han Thuyen and Le Quy Don streets (Hac Thanh ward) - places that are often flooded during heavy rains.

Han Thuyen Street has many low-lying areas that are heavily flooded, forcing many vehicles to change directions.

Not only causing difficulties in traffic, localized flooding also poses many risks to electrical safety, environmental sanitation and traffic accidents.

On Le Thi Hoa Street, a tree in the campus of an office fell down; authorities are working to fix the problem.

Continuous heavy rain has caused many drainage systems in many locations to be overloaded, and water drains very slowly.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3, local authorities have advised people to limit going out unless absolutely necessary.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from now until July 23, Thanh Hoa area will have heavy to very heavy rain, rainfall of 100-200mm, locally over 300mm. Therefore, the risk of flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas will continue.
