According to information from the Department of Transport, the amount of rain measured by the automatic measuring system installed in the province showed that in Cam Con commune (Bao Yen district) it rained 145.6mm, Trung Chai commune (Sa Pa town) it rained 144.8mm, and Nam Cuong ward ( Lao Cai city) it rained 111mm.

Heavy rains caused flooding at Km6, National Highway 4D, passing through Dong Tuyen Commune, Lao Cai City, causing traffic disruption. To ensure traffic safety, traffic police were present to direct traffic and ensure safety for people and vehicles.

According to the traffic diversion plan, vehicles from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa town and vice versa will follow the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway to Sa Pa. Drivers traveling on the route must pay attention to strictly following the instructions of the traffic police force.

According to information just updated by reporters, currently on Provincial Road 152 (from Bao Thang district to Sa Pa town), Provincial Road 157 (section belonging to Phong Hai Farm town, Bao Thang district) there are many landslides causing traffic jams.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Cong Hoa, Deputy Head of the Road Maintenance Board of Lao Cai province, said: Currently, the board has arranged vehicles and human resources to areas where landslides and floods have occurred to promptly handle the situation, and at the same time coordinate with local authorities and traffic police to ensure traffic safety.

Currently, the authorities are implementing traffic diversion to ensure people's safety.

The National Center for Hydrometeorology and Lao Cai Hydrometeorology Station forecasts: From the evening of June 24 to June 27, areas in the province will have moderate rain, widespread heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 100-150mm/period, some places rain over 150mm/period. This rain is forecast to last until the end of June 27. Heavy rain will be concentrated in the districts: Muong Khuong, Si Ma Cai, Bac Ha, Bao Thang, Van Ban and Sa Pa town.

To be proactive and ready in preventing and responding to all situations caused by natural disasters that may occur, in order to minimize damage, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requests the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and departments, branches and sectors according to their assigned functions and tasks to regularly update information and weather developments to direct the work of preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
