US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke on September 1 on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam: "On behalf of the US Government , I would like to send sincere congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the celebration of Vietnam's National Day on September 2.

The United States admires the resilience and determination of the Vietnamese people and the progress you have made. Vietnam continues to demonstrate remarkable growth and development, becoming an indispensable partner in the Indo- Pacific region and a leader in responding to shared global challenges.

The US Secretary of State added that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The US is proud of the progress the two sides have made under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has strengthened cooperation in the areas of security, science and technology, education, as well as in responding to regional challenges, including maritime security and transnational crime.

“On this historic occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to further deepening the relationship between our two countries. Together, we will continue to promote peace, prosperity, and security for the American and Vietnamese people, and the entire Indo-Pacific region.

On this special day, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to the people of Vietnam. May you have a joyful celebration and a prosperous year ahead," said the US Secretary of State.
