Nam Dinh speeds up progress, bringing connecting traffic projects to the finish line
Key investment projects in the field of connecting traffic in Nam Dinh are being accelerated, ensuring completion ahead of schedule, with the expectation that when put into operation, they will create a breakthrough in local socio -economic development.
On the afternoon of August 6, Nam Dinh provincial leaders inspected the progress of key connecting traffic projects such as Ben Moi bridge, Day river overpass connecting Nam Dinh province and Ninh Binh province on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway and the development axis road connecting the province's marine economic zone with Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway (phase II).

The Ben Moi Bridge project across the Day River connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces has a total investment of 1,498 billion VND with a bridge length of 0.648 km and an approach road of 2.562 km. The bridge section has been completed, the approach road on the Nam Dinh side has completed the Quy Do canal project for 250 m, with 4/4 concrete box culverts cast in place; K98 construction has completed branches N1 and N2. The entire project is expected to be completed and open to traffic in October 2024.
The project to build a bridge over the Day River connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway was started in August 2023 with a total main route length of about 2 km, a scale of 4 lanes, the river overpass section is about 1.36 km long, the approach road is about 0.64 km long, with a total investment of 1,450 billion VND.

Regarding site clearance work, it has been basically completed. Regarding construction progress, the value of the volume implemented to date has reached about 70%. Of which, the bridge section has completed 100% of bored piles; 2 main piers under the river (T12, T13) have completed K0 blocks for both piers; basically completed the installation of casting vehicles and load testing; poured concrete block K1 of pier T12, expected to close the main bridge in November 2024;...
The road at both ends of the Nam Dinh bridge has completed organic excavation and weak foundation treatment; the section with wick placement has completed filling with K95 sand and reinforcing, and is filling with K95 sand and granular materials behind the abutment of the cement pile section at the bridgehead. Drainage items and protective and auxiliary works are under construction.
The investment project to build a development axis road connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway (phase II) was started in April 2022.
Regarding construction progress: the total project implementation volume value has reached about 75% of the contract value. Of which, the total implementation volume value of package No. 1 has reached 76.32% to date; the C19 asphalt concrete road section is 11/14.35 km, C12.5 asphalt concrete is 11/14.35 km; the Dong Cao bridge has installed 12/14 spans, the bridge deck has completed 12/14 spans, completed 16/16 piers and 2 bridge abutments; expected to be closed in September 2024.
Package 2 has achieved 70.2% of the completed volume to date; has completed the entire roadbed, drainage, curbs, and asphalt concrete pavement R25 and C19 within the expanded roadbed area on all sections of the route, reaching 30/30km; is constructing the asphalt concrete pavement layer C12.5, reaching 22.2/30km,...

Regarding the Ben Moi Bridge construction investment project, Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, thanked the Ministry of Transport, the Project Management Board, and the consulting units and contractors for their support in the Ben Moi Bridge construction investment project, which is a vital and key traffic route connecting the cultural and heritage centers of Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh provinces. Nam Dinh province is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the project to be put into operation in October 2024.
Regarding the Day River overpass project connecting Nam Dinh province and Ninh Binh province on the Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh - Hai Phong expressway; Dong Cao bridge project and the development axis route connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway to be put into operation in 2024, the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Secretary requested departments, branches and localities to continue to coordinate and create maximum conditions for contractors to construct the project to ensure progress; requested contractors to speed up construction progress, ensure quality to soon complete the items and projects according to the set schedule...
