Representatives of the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of Viet Yen ward offered incense to commemorate Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai.

Here, the delegates and local people reviewed the life, career and achievements of Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai (1620 - 1683). He was born in Nhu Thiet, Yen Dung district, Lang Giang prefecture, Kinh Bac town (now in Nhu Thiet residential group, Viet Yen ward). Coming from a family of many generations of successful mandarins, his life and career were associated with 5 kings of the Le Trung Hung period. He devoted all his heart, talent and intelligence to serving the court, shouldering the responsibility for the people and the country.

In the military field, with his outstanding military strategy, Than Cong Tai was repeatedly assigned by the royal court to lead troops to quell rebellions in Kinh Bac, Thai Nguyen, and Lang Son. He won every battle, achieved many feats, kept the border safe, and brought a peaceful life to the people. In 1672, he was promoted to the position of Admiral of Kinh Bac, and at the same time guarded Lang Son - an important border area of the Fatherland. He had great contributions in expanding trade, developing Ky Lua market town (Lang Son), promoting the trade process between Vietnam and China; he was honored as one of the pioneer economic reformers of our nation under feudalism.

Han Quan Cong passed away at the age of 64 and was buried in his hometown. His merits are deeply remembered by the people, and there are many relics from Lang Son to Gia Lam to worship him. The tomb and temple of Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai in Nhu Thiet residential group are preserved and renovated, and are ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Every year on the 11th day of the 8th lunar month, the authorities and people of localities in the province and Lang Son province respectfully hold a memorial ceremony to commemorate the death of Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai to show gratitude for his great contributions.

Speaking at the memorial ceremony, the representative of the Viet Yen Ward People's Committee emphasized: The merits, intelligence and virtue of Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai will forever be the pride and priceless spiritual heritage of Viet Yen homeland and the Vietnamese people. He left behind a shining example of loyalty, strategic talent, innovative spirit and love for his homeland and country.

His name and career will forever live on with our country. The present and future generations will continue to remember, continue and promote those noble values.
