However, the school announced that it will continue to investigate and cooperate with authorities to consider further handling.

Victims of photo manipulation in this case hope that the authorities will soon have legal reforms to deal with the act of creating "hot" content without consent, even if this content has not been distributed.

Recently, Chief Executive of Hong Kong (China) - Mr. Lee Ka-Chiu - directed school leaders to strictly handle similar cases. At the same time, he also warned that acts that damage the honor and image of others can constitute a crime.

The Department of Innovation, Technology and Industry said it will continue to monitor issues arising in the process of individuals and units using AI, as well as review global AI management trends, to come up with appropriate solutions for similar incidents.

Currently, the development of specific laws related to AI is still a new issue globally. Regarding the incident that happened at HKU, the Office of the Personal Data Commissioner announced that it has opened a criminal investigation.

Sun Dong, director general of the Ministry of Science and Technology, warned AI users that they must take legal responsibility for how they use the tool. “AI is a double-edged sword... It is important to have appropriate guidance and a comprehensive legal framework,” Sun told the media.

Ms. Christine Choi Yuk-lin - Director of the Bureau of Education - also spoke out asking universities to strengthen moral education and human values for students.
