On the afternoon of September 30, a source from Dan Tri reporter said that Children's Hospital 2 (HCMC) received and treated a child who was injured after falling from the second floor of a school to the ground.
The patient is T. (13 years old), an 8th grade student at Phu My Secondary School ( Binh Duong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). According to initial information, at around 9:30 a.m. the same day (during the break between two classes), the male student suddenly went to the railing of the 2nd floor, climbed up and fell into the school yard.
After the incident, T. was taken to the local hospital for emergency treatment, before being transferred to a higher level hospital.

At Children's Hospital 2, after examination, doctors recorded that the patient had several broken bones (in the right forearm, left leg and right heel), soft tissue trauma in the head area, slight bleeding in the brain, stable fracture (not collapsed or sunken) of 3 lumbar vertebrae, was conscious and responsive, and had stable vital signs.
The patient was treated by doctors from the Neurosurgery Department in coordination with the Orthopedic Department with a cast, fixation of broken bones, conservative treatment, and monitoring of the brain hemorrhage.
It is expected that when his health is good enough and the spinal injury is no longer dangerous, the male student will undergo surgery to treat the fractures.
Currently, the authorities are coordinating with the Board of Directors of Phu My Secondary School to investigate and clarify the cause of the above incident.
