For over a week, the weather in Da Nang has been continuously hot and sunny. In addition to the usual beach destinations , many locals and tourists choose resorts, community tourism or natural rivers and streams such as Khe Ram stream, Vung Bot, and the upper reaches of Cu De river to "cool off".

At Khe Ram stream (Hai Van ward, Da Nang city), every day hundreds of visitors come to play and bathe. The clear, cool water from upstream flows down, allowing many people to soak for hours.

Traveling to Da Nang with her family, Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet (a tourist from Quang Tri ) said that the clear natural streams in the upper reaches of the Cu De River are great stops on hot days.

"If we go to the beach, my family will have to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the harsh sunlight. The stream is cooler, the scenery is beautiful and there are no crowds. We plan to visit more eco-tourism areas on both sides of the Cu De River in the coming days."

On this occasion, many groups of young people also come to the upper Cu De River to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

“It's hot outside at 39-40°C, but by the stream the temperature is only over 20°C, it feels much more comfortable,” a tourist shared.

Do not be subjective when bathing in streams

According to local residents, drowning incidents have occurred frequently in natural streams in Hai Van Ward. Residents and tourists should strictly follow local government regulations and should not swim in deep water areas.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Thuc Dung - Chairman of Hai Van Ward People's Committee, Da Nang City - said that during the hot season, the number of people visiting natural streams in the area increases.

Although the scenery is beautiful and cool, many sections of the stream have deep water levels, posing a risk of drowning. The authorities have put up warning signs prohibiting swimming in dangerous locations and are planning to erect barriers in the Vung Bot area to prevent people from swimming.

“We have repeatedly warned and advised people and tourists to be careful when playing in rivers and streams. Authorities regularly check and remind to limit risks. The ward also plans to set up guardhouses at some locations to regularly monitor and ensure everyone's safety,” said Mr. Dung.

In addition, the authorities also recommend that people wear life jackets, do not swim in deep water or fast-flowing currents, and collect trash after playing to preserve the environment and landscape of the streams.
