TPO - Today and tomorrow, heat waves continue to appear in many provinces and cities in the South. The highest temperature ranges from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, yesterday (March 10), heat waves appeared widely in the Southeast region. The highest temperature ranged from 35 to 36.3 degrees Celsius. Some places recorded high temperatures, such as: Bien Hoa (Dong Nai): 36 degrees Celsius, So Sao ( Binh Duong ): 36.3 degrees Celsius.

Due to the impact of the heat, the humidity in the air has decreased. The lowest relative humidity in many localities was recorded at 35 - 45%. In particular, the lowest is So Sao area (Binh Duong) with air humidity reaching only 31.1%.

Today and tomorrow, heat waves may appear widely in the Eastern region and some places in the Western region. The highest temperature ranges from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity is from 30 - 55%. The peak heat wave time during the day is from 12 noon to 4 pm.

It is forecasted that today, Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai will record the highest temperature from 36 - 38 degrees Celsius. Binh Duong and Tay Ninh will have the highest temperature from 36 - 37 degrees Celsius. Ho Chi Minh City will have the highest temperature from 35 - 37 degrees Celsius. Other provinces and cities such as Can Tho, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Long An are all forecasted to have the highest temperature ranging from 35 - 36 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Agency warned that in the next 2 days, heat waves will continue to occur widely in the Eastern region and some places in the Western region. Heat waves can cause explosions, fires in residential areas and forest fires. In addition, heat waves also cause people to be exposed to high temperatures for a long time, leading to dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Forecasts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting show that yesterday (March 10), the highest water level at Vung Tau marine station was recorded at 4 m. Today and tomorrow, the water level in the eastern coastal area of ​​the South is forecast to increase. The water level at Vung Tau station could reach 4.2 m.

Accordingly, low-lying areas, riverside areas, and areas outside the dike are likely to be flooded in the early morning and afternoon. This increases the risk of saltwater intrusion in rivers in the eastern region of the South.
