Speaking at the event, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong said that the total amount of money donated by union members and employees of the banking industry to support the program this time was 82 billion VND, equivalent to the cost of building 1,366 new houses (the support level for building new houses is 60 million VND/house), exceeding the original target by 36.6%.
The above-mentioned donation amount was transferred by the banking industry union to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (15 billion VND) and the Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities that still lack funds to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses (67 billion VND) to support funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for localities, contributing to completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31 as directed by the Prime Minister , in order to practically welcome party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Speaking at the reception ceremony, comrade Do Van Chien congratulated the banking sector on its proud achievements in recent times, contributing to the country's GDP growth of 7.52% in the first 6 months of the year. Thanking the cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the banking sector for their financial support to the program, comrade Do Van Chien pledged to use these funds for the right purposes, effectively, and to the beneficiaries, to help them reduce their difficulties.
