According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the agricultural sector has coordinated with localities to guide farmers to zone off heavily flooded rice growing areas and mobilize pumps, including oil pumps, to quickly drain water. Priority is given to pumping and draining water quickly for areas of sown rice with low plants and newly planted rice areas, ensuring stable rice growth. At the same time, localities and farmers are requested to prepare sources of extremely short-term and short-term rice varieties such as P6DB, KD18, HN6, BT7... to replant promptly if rice is damaged by 50% or more. The replanting period ends before August 5 to ensure the season.

For rice fields that can be restored, farmers urgently clean up duckweed and moss, gather, care for, and fertilize the rice plants to help them recover and grow; and focus on replanting to ensure adequate rice density in the fields.

For vegetable areas that can be restored, the agricultural sector guides localities and people to focus on clearing the flow, dredging ditches, and bed ends in vegetable and specialized vegetable areas. Proactively make plastic covers for leafy vegetables and spice vegetables that are easily crushed. Check and reinforce the protection of greenhouses and net houses; urgently pump out water as quickly as possible; prepare vegetable seeds to be ready to replant in case heavy rains cause a shortage of vegetable supply.
